About the role

We are searching for an experienced manager of software development to lead a stellar group of software engineers working on an innovative cloud based marketplace platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage / lead a group of stellar software development engineers responsible for core / platform software functionality that serves as building blocks / modules to support application oriented scrum delivery teams.
  • Formulate development plans for new initiatives and drive towards stellar execution every step of the way.
  • Develop strong communications with peers and executive leadership to ensure all teams remain in sync on plans and execution status.
  • Cultivate close working relationships across all engineering teams as well as outside groups including Product Management, Program Management, UX Design, and Data to ensure on time high quality work.
  • Lead and complete project plans and deliver with high quality in a multifaceted start-up oriented fast paced engineering environment.
  • Leverage on standard methodologies in software development in ensuring streamlined execution at high velocity optimizing for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Team building: recruit, hire, mentor, and coach high caliber software development engineers with demonstrated technical excellence in key software subject areas.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in a hands-on software development role with demonstrated accomplishments in implementing successfully on sophisticated / ambitious software project initiatives.
  • Experience managing software development teams in multifaceted, high growth, innovative engineering environments with demonstrated leadership skills spanning project planning / execution, people management, best practices process, and technical excellence.
  • Experience managing projects in a multifaceted high energy scrum team based agile environment.
  • Experience in planning out sophisticated software initiatives intended for demanding large critically important customer environments.
  • Solid understanding of outstanding engineering methodologies / process infrastructure demonstrating Atlassian, Jira, and Confluence tool suites.

The estimated US base compensation range for this role is $107k to $240k. Andela is a fully global remote organization and our compensation ranges are set with reference to pay benchmark data provided by independent pay survey providers. This range is based on national US data, and exact pay for this role will be determined based on various factors including experience, skills, location and market demands. Some roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including bonus, commission or incentive.
Please note that this salary range applies only to US based roles.
