Brief Overview:

The Quality Manager, Amwell Psychiatric Care will play a critical role in ensuring the best clinical care is being delivered for our clients, in accordance with The Joint Commission standards and the By-Laws that the medical group has established.  This individual will work very closely with a tight group of Physicians who conduct the quality reviews, ensure accurate and adequate reporting to the Medical Executive Committee, oversee sub-committees and run all The Joint Commission audits (mock and real).  This individual will have significant visibility with the Governing Board and the Executive Team of the Clinical Services Organization. 

The role requires extensive focus on people / process management and identifying ways to improve clinical outcomes.  The individual will need to be versed in the clinical workflows and have excellent provider and client communication skills.  

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead weekly Quality Department, Medical Executive Committee and Governing Board meetings
  • Collaborate with Quality Department members in lending expertise and feedback. Identify limitations and offer suggestions to continuously improve
  • Assure compliance with all Joint Commission standards as outlined for Behavioral Health
  • Oversee compliance with Bylaws
  • Be the point person for The Joint Commission and ensure readiness for any audit
  • Stay up to date on The Joint Commission notices/updates, workshops, conferences
  • Coordinate Mock Surveys scheduling with consultant, preparation with sites, assure tracer checklist completion with tracer facilitators
  • Lead all tracer activities with the Vice President of Medical Affairs and Medical Directors
  • Monitor progress of Peer Review Committee
  • Oversee Policy Handbook revisions and assure approval by MEC/Governing Board
  • Communicate results / outcomes with providers through regular interactions
  • Systematize the Performance Measure Tracking Table
  • Maintain the Complaint Log and Forms, communication with Amwell Legal Team
  • Organize and distribute surveys to support continuous performance improvement

Qualifications:

  • Self-starter
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Expertise in development of quality improvement programs and accreditation compliance
  • Familiarity with publicly reported measures used in the behavioral health field
  • Experience leading a team / managing people
  • Knowledge of clinical services in a hospital setting
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal presentation skills
  • BS Degree required – clinical background (RN, NP, MA, PA, etc, highly encouraged)
