Brief Overview:

The Head of M&A will join Amwell during a critical period of tremendous growth and expansion. Reporting to and working alongside the Chief Financial Officer, s/he will spearhead Amwell’s corporate development efforts and deepen the business’ impact in new and existing markets for telehealth. As a result, this individual will be a key contributor to the company’s revenue generation.

This Head of M&A will be responsible for identifying, developing, and executing business-level strategies that drive revenue and market share growth. S/he will do so by undertaking strategic market analysis, fostering relationships with external partners, and sourcing, negotiating, and executing strategic acquisitions, investments, and partnerships. These efforts will ultimately fuel Amwell’s immediate and long-term growth trajectory.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic analyses, prospective plans, and roadmaps for Amwell’s inorganic growth in the healthcare technology market
  • Oversee the requisite due diligence a variety of deal structures such as acquisitions, investments, partnerships, joint ventures, and divestitures
  • Foster relationships with relevant stakeholders, including bankers, brokers, investors, healthcare executives and industry experts, in order to assess market landscape and source new deals
  • Manage and support the post-acquisition integration process for future deals

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success leading M&A transactions and investments within healthcare IT and/or services
  • Charismatic, executive-level presence with the ability to establish relationships with key stakeholders; ability to present succinctly and clearly in both written and verbal communication
  • Strong financial and commercial analytical skills that drive results; capacity to quickly understand new markets and relevant operational and financial dynamics.
  • Track record of successfully integrating new acquisitions from both a financial and operational perspective
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • Relocation to Boston, MA preferred
