Ampaire is seeking a highly experienced Aircraft Powertrain Test Engineer to serve in
a key role for our aircraft retrofit projects. In this role, working with the
multidisciplinary engineers throughout the organization, you will: Work with system
engineers to understand all subsystem and component requirements; convert
product requirements into test methods, cases and parameters; write test plans,
objectives and procedures. Specify, procure and setup necessary test equipment
including high voltage and high power electrical test devices and computerized data
acquisition systems; Develop test environments and test setups; Setup and execute
require tests; Analyze test results, detect issues and develop root cause remedies as
required; Ensure all tests and procedures meet company standards and regulatory
requirements; Prepare and present test reports to management and regulators.
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering
+ 6+ years of increasing responsibilities in testing powertrain components
+ Excellent knowledge of common test equipment and Instrumentation for
electrical and mechanical systems developmental testing
+ Experience with defining processes, procedures and tools used for hardware,
electrical system and software systems validation and verification testing.
+ Familiarity with computerized testing tools such as LabVIEW.
+ Experience with diagramming software such as Microsoft Visio
+ Experience using requirements management software. Jama experience
+ Excellent problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to manage test projects from planning through reporting.
+ Ability to troubleshoot and think out of the box.
+ High-level technical writing skills.
+ Experience with full product development life cycle
+ Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, strategic thinking, and
+ Strong verbal communication skills.
+ Knowledge of FAA policies, standards, and aircraft development best practices.
+ Demonstrated ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
from groups of managers and general users
+ Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical data
+ Able to communicate project status updates in a team environment
+ Able to effectively plan, organize and complete work with minimal supervision
+ Highly motivated to provide project deliverables on time and be able to establish
priorities when multiple deliverables coincide
+ Interest and ability to contribute to evolving work processes
+ High Voltage and High Power Electrical test experience
+ Familiar with gas turbine engine testing
+ Familiar with high power electric motor testing
+ Familiar with advanced battery systems
+ Experience with FAA Certification per Part 23/33
+ Experience with testing per DO-160G and DO-311A
+ Expert user of Jama requirements management tool
