Company Overview:
Ambiq's mission is to develop the lowest-power semiconductor solutions to enable intelligent devices everywhere by developing the lowest-power semiconductor solutions to drive a more energy-efficient, sustainable, and data-driven world. Ambiq has helped leading manufacturers worldwide develop products that last weeks on a single charge (rather than days), while delivering a maximum feature set in compact industrial designs. Ambiq's goal is to take Artificial Intelligence (AI) where it has never gone before in mobile and portable devices, using Ambiq's advanced ultra-low power system on chip (SoC) solutions. Ambiq has shipped more than 200 million units as of March 2023. For more information, visit www.ambiq.com.
Our innovative and fast-moving teams of research, development, production, marketing, sales, and operations are spread across several continents, including the US (Austin and San Jose), Taiwan (Hsinchu), China (Shenzhen and Shanghai), Japan (Tokyo), and Singapore. We value continued technology innovation, fanatical attention to customer needs, collaborative decision-making, and enthusiasm for energy efficiency. We embrace candidates who also share these same values. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, creative, and comfortable learning and driving exciting new technologies. We encourage and nurture an environment for growth and opportunities to work on complex, interesting, and challenging projects that will create a lasting impact. Come join us on our quest for 100 billion devices. The endpoint intelligence revolution starts here.
The qualified candidate should be an engineer with experience developing advanced analog/mixed-signal circuits. Experience should include high-level modeling, spec definition, transistor-level design, layout, test, evaluation, and debugging of prototype ICs. The ideal candidate will have a strong intuitive and analytical understanding of transistor-level design, including stability, matching, transient and noise analysis, low power design trade-offs, and architectural and systems issues. A deep knowledge of transistor operation in the subthreshold regime is highly desirable. The PMU lead must work extensively with digital, applications, and product engineers, so familiarity with digital, lab, and product test issues is highly desirable.
This role will work with the SoC and Architecture teams to determine PMU requirements and with analog and digital design teams on implementation. This work may also involve interacting with external IP vendors. The designs will be leading-edge geometries.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, results-driven, and a good communicator. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the design, from technical oversight to project tracking, and will require associated skills and experience.
The person in this role will design ultra-low power, highly efficient PMU systems. These systems will be used in Ambiq’s MCU products to ensure extra-long battery life. The person will drive the design through all phases of architecture, modeling, schematic design, and layout supervision. They will also help support the integration of their design and bring it up in the field.
