As the Principal Modem Lead at Ambiq, you will drive the development of connectivity modems working with a small team.

This role will work within the RF engineering team and with RF engineers to define the radio system for different connectivity protocols. This role interfaces with the software and SOC team to help integrate & verify the radio IP.

The successful candidate has demonstrated developing modems for either the BLE/BT or Zigbee protocols. They are an innovator & mentor to Junior engineers.

The person in this role will lead a team of junior engineers in developing and delivering modems and other digital blocks essential for the radio. They would be responsible for achieving first-time right/functional silicon.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Design and Architect new Radio Digital systems.
  • Develop/Support RLS and System models to verify BER for BLE, ZigBee & other Connectivity Protocols.
  • Write and verify DSP algorithm for DCOC, AFC, AGC, Demodulators.
  • RTL design and verification of Radio Digital blocks.
  • Liaison between RF & SOC team.

Education and Experience:

  • Master or PhD. in Electrical Engineering
  • 15+ years’ experience in modem architecture, development & validation in silicon.
  • Specific experience in most of these domains: Polar architecture, Modulators/Demodulators, Decimation Filters, AFC, DCOC , AGC.
  • Expert level knowledge in MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Experience in RTL coding and verification.
  • Awareness and ability to propose competitive & innovative solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Human relations skills to convince others based on technical knowledge and shows assertiveness to alert superiors/colleagues.
