Role: Senior VFD Technician

We are looking for a Senior VFD technician to install and repair VFD systems for our clients in the NY/NJ area. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of VFD units out in the field. You will also be required to respond to equipment breakdowns, conduct on-site repairs, perform preventative maintenance, and advise on equipment upgrades. Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, start-up, commission and verify proper functionality of multiple brands of VFD’s.
  • Work with management to run an efficient service department through productive staffing, customer retention, cost controls, achievement of objectives.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business
  • Maintain high-quality service repairs and minimize callbacks
  • Keep management and customer informed of job progress and issues
  • Provide valid options for additional work and service based on established protocols
  • Prioritize following safety procedures and maintain a constant awareness of personal safety and the safety of others.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience with multiple manufacturers of Variable Frequency Drives
  • Valid driver’s license required. Ability to lift 50 pounds and work from heights/a ladder
  • Strong working knowledge of three phase motors and control circuits.
  • Can read and interpret documents such as electrical and mechanical drawings, safety rules, operations manual, and written directions including reading and understanding PID's, fabrication drawings, and electrical schematics
  • Possess installation and troubleshooting skills for heating and cooling systems
  • OSHA 30
  • SST
  • Ability to prepare inspection and appraisal reports
  • Team player with good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports.
  • Mechanical Assembly and Troubleshooting Skills
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Experience programming, calibrating, and configuring 4-20 MA & 0-10 Vdc devices
  • Exceptional ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Prior experience with gas detection systems, & DriSteem Humidifiers is a plus

Estimated Salary: $110,000 - $135,000, with flexibility based on experience and skills.
