ABOUT THE ROLE

The cardinal role of the Foundations team is to ensure the smooth running of all foundation programmes from Year 1 to conclusion. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to updated definitive documentation for the foundations' modules in documents, such as the Bachelor of Entrepreneurial Leadership and Software Engineering program handbooks.
  • Provide academic and missions support to students throughout their foundation learning journey.
  • Maintain micro-courses & concept maps, and the creation, review, and validation of learning contracts.
  • Engage in the assessment of students’ modules summative submissions.
  • Conduct regular student-staff consultative group meetings to capture student feedback and to implement recommendations to enhance the quality of programme delivery.
  • Regularly review the Learning Management System analytical reports to identify students who may require intervention from coaches throughout the foundation learning journey.
  • Implement modifications to learning materials, assessments and other relevant components meet internal and external quality assurance requirements.
  • Other relevant activities to ensure the successful delivery of the programme
  • Contribute to decision-making as a member of the assessment board.
  • Any other reasonable duties that may be allocated from time to time by the line manager.

Essentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in any subject area.
  • Excellent communications (oral and written), interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize own work, and work independently.
  • Excellent coaching skills.
  • A strong interest in at least one of the 14 grand challenges and great opportunities as understood within the ALG ecosystem
  • A startup mindset to help us scale the programme to the order of thousands of students in the next 12 months.

Desirable

  • Master’s degree in a subject related to ALU’s 14 grand challenges and great opportunities.
  • Working knowledge of  regional and international potential partnerships for example Edtech, NGOs, Startup Incubators and accelerators, etc.
  • Experience in online teaching and learning delivery at challenger universities.
