What You Will Contribute To Altos

The Payroll Analyst will be extremely flexible and enjoy a “new venture” mentality and environment that changes day to day, and will be comfortable working in a newly formed, growing company.  Altos is seeking candidates who are open to learning, collaborate well with others, have a positive mindset, and are solution driven.

Responsibilities 

  • Manage daily requirements for key payroll audit tasks, and reporting requirements, including validation of all general ledger transactions that flow from payroll systems to our accounting platform.
  • Process payroll for 500-600 total employees, exempt and non-exempt in US- bi-weekly and UK-monthly
  • Reconcile all key payroll general ledger accounts on a monthly basis, and book all required entries
  • Weekly reconciliation of Payroll Cash transactions against the bank account
  • Participate in the testing and development of enhanced internal controls inclusive of Sarbanes-Oxley 404 and Pre and Post-audit reviews.
  • Provide back-up support for the Sr. Global Payroll Manager
  • Special projects as assigned, including UAT participation for new systems implementations.
  • Be able to work with HRIS platforms
  • Adept at creating reports and gathering data into solutions and advisement

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
  • 5+ years Payroll Analyst and processing experience
  • Must recognize the importance of handling highly confidential information, excellent judgment, and organization skills.
  • Understanding of payroll related regulations (wage and hour laws, IRS rules regarding supplemental wages, legal guidelines for wage garnishments, etc.).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, team-based environment.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in payroll processing for exempt and non-exempt positions, payroll conversions/implementations
  • Payroll system knowledge (Paylocity preferred), strong Excel skills, Gmail email management, and strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with global payroll management is a plus. UK payroll processing is highly preferred.
  • Experience using Paylocity, Bamboo HRIS, Ease, Empower, Navia a plus
  • Experience with implementations of HRIS systems

The salary range for Redwood City, CA:

  • Payroll Analyst: $122,400 - $165,600

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
