About the Role

As VP of Altium’s Data Platform team, you will drive the platform’s technology strategy, solution design, engineering, and operations collaborating with internal and external technology partners to execute and drive the data platform roadmap in support of Altium’s overall vision and business objectives.
 
A Day in the Life of Our VP, Data Platform
  • Provide people and technology leadership to the global Data Platform team
  • Develop the strategies and goals for data engineering, data architecture, and data analytics and lead the team in execution
  • Partner with other department heads to develop and deliver a company-wide data strategy
  • Collaborate with development teams to drive data infrastructure, reporting, and analytical applications
  • Implement solutions for the enterprise in partnership with product owners, tech leads, and cross-functional teams
  • Oversee solution design for data engineering activities for all components of the data platforms
  • Drive day-to-day service delivery for the data platform, leading initiatives to improve long-term performance, system stability, scalability, security, and resilience of services
  • Lead the technology strategy, budget planning, and management processes for the team and contribute to the wider enterprise technology strategy
Who you are and what you’ll need for this position:
  • An independent, results-oriented leader who is a lifelong learner and technology champion
  • A combination of technical depth, business acumen, and strong communication skill is essential
  • Experience leading, motivating, coaching, and developing diverse teams composed of direct, indirect, and external members
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage capital and operational budgets at the domain, program, and project level
  • Experience with leading support for production systems with an emphasis on service delivery, problem management, and the mitigation of technology obsolescence
  • Multinational environment experience
  • A background in managing overseas teams and stakeholder relationships
  • Able to deliver quality work in a fast-paced work environment
Additional Technical Skills
  • Experience in end-user business intelligence platforms such as MicroStrategy, Power BI, Domo, Tableau, Qlik, etc
  • Experience in data storage tools and platforms, i.e., such as Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Hadoop (Hortonworks/Cloudera, Hbase, Hive), DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, Amazon S3, and Microsoft Power BI
  • Experience in data integration solutions including IBM Datastage, Kafka, or Nifi

The salary range for this role is $250,000-$300,000. Actual compensation packages within this range are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate and role requirements, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
