PeriOp. Senior Systems Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Sr. Systems Analyst is responsible for the success and implementation of all aspects of the application or technical solution. They are charged to participate with multiple projects through various phases of the implementation, from initiation to post-live support. The Analyst will utilize their application expertise in the areas of development, workflow, process, system build, configuration and testing, as well as end-user training. Communication and presentation skills are essential to the success of this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Determine clinical requirements and establish partnership with client for successful implementation for the project team (client, vendors)
  • Install, configure, and support clinical application software components and/or client technical solution during implementation project, upgrades, and additional services.
  • Review, discuss, understand, and execute the business processes and procedures with team on the following items and set expectations, review technical tasks/needs and manage identifiable artifacts resulting from them:
    • Development – document technical design and participate in design sessions
    • Application kick-off and milestone dates (deployment, training, validation assistance)
    • Training and Education planning based upon standards and contract requirements
    • Software deployment — Clinical Applications and 3rd party vendors
    • Reports - evaluation, deployment and troubleshooting
    • Interface - consulting, recommendation and testing when possible
    • Service Management — ability to complete an analysis of the issue to identify the root cause:
      • Workflow process
      • Configuration
      • Interface
      • Desktop/Printers
      • Servers
      • End-User Training
    • Issue tracking and escalation process – documenting the issues as well as the steps to remediate the issue inclusive of:
      • Write Specifications
      • Document Current State Workflow Process vs. Future State Workflow Process
      • Write and execute test scripts.
      • Create End User Training material, if needed
    • Client associated risks identified and corrective actions or consulting.
    • Communication and documentation — This position requires extensive verbal/written communication:
      • Presentations – Client, Team, End Users
      • Business Documents – Business Plans, Specifications, Test Scripts, Disaster Recovery Plans
      • Workflow Diagrams
      • Training Documents – Team, End- User, Support Transition
      • Meeting Agenda/ Minutes
      • General Correspondence – Team, Client, End-User, Vendor and Other Departments
    • Support – 24/7 On-Call Support for Clinical Applications.

 

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a team player, have client presence and the ability to work independently.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot, apply critical thinking and provide viable suggestions for problem resolution.
  • Must have previous experience in all aspects of an IT Project Lifecycle (Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitor Control and Close) inclusive of implementing LEAN methodology.
  • Experience with Web front-end and back-end development (such as PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL)
  • Understanding of Cloud Based deployment solutions and development.
  • Understanding of HL7, XML interface record processes and batch file transfer processes for communication between applications
  • EMR Software proficiency desired
  • Proficient with MD Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and exposure to MS Project)
  • Crystal Reports, SQL scripting and database statements is desired
  • General knowledge of Database Administration, Network Support and Windows Operating systems desired

Academic and professional qualifications:

  • BA or BS Degree, and/or relevant business experience 

 Experience:

  • 7-10 years industry experience preferred.
  • 5-10 years experience in information technology management preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a managerial role providing oversight, technical support and maintenance in a Healthcare organization setting is preferred.
  • Healthcare background with Management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of HL7 interfaces.
  • Knowledge of MS SQL, Visio, Client/Server networking, peripherals (namely printers).
  • Knowledge of APIs and application interoperability.
  • Ability to review and manipulate SQL queries.
  • Solid MS Office skills (MS Teams, OneDrive, Sharepoint, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with any other EHR application front end and/or at the configuration level is preferred.

 

Travel requirements:

  • May require local travel.
  • May require other travel for business needs.

Working arrangements:

  • May require on call after hours support.
