Altera/NSHS is looking for a talented report analyst/developer to join its Data Management team as it builds out a Revenue Cycle BI platform using Microsoft SQL Server technologies.  This role will be involved in all aspects of development lifecycle, including analysis, technical design and specifications, development and rollout to end-users.  The individual will work directly with team members, leadership and partners to design scalable and extendable solutions, visual and interactive dashboards and reports.

 

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / JOB DUTIES:

  • Implement the reporting responsibilities in the data warehouse
  • Design report solutions that align with data management principles, policies, standards and best practices
  • Support reporting cycles (ie daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Adhere and develop all documentation standards, development lifecycle tasks, and status reporting requirements
  • Efficiently deliver high-quality solutions through formalized technical design documents and specifications, proactive testing and on-going quality monitoring
  • Work with the Manager to provide technical application solutions for assigned business areas.
  • Identify the common causes of the defects, prioritize them and systematically remove them so that they do not reoccur in further development work.
  • Participate in focus groups and workshops, attend vendor training and demonstrations.
  • Possess technical knowledge of assigned application technology.
  • Work with Business Analyst to understand the customer’s product-specific requirements and configuration and translate them to technical design specifications and data flow from which programs are developed and coded.
  • Codes, tests, debugs, implements, and documents programs or technical configuration.
  • Ensure programs meet technical specifications and standards.
  • Interact with Business Analysts during the software build or configuration and testing process.
  • Perform technical application configuration and configure /run reports at user request.
  • Design and execute unit, system and integration test plans for new developments/releases/reports.
  • Maintain technical documentation based on standard operating procedures in support of the assigned application.
  • Perform application maintenance activities.
  • Provide production support.
  • Interface with Business Analyst to assist in resolving support calls escalated by the Service Desk.
  • Interact with the team as the technical lead in development, which includes analysis, design and development.

  • Actively participate in meetings and make valuable contribution.
  • Provide production support for application issues.
  • Identify, coordinate and communicate issues, requirements and status related to application functionality with other team members and software vendors.

Qualifications:

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in SQL and report development
  • Proficient in MS SQL Server 2008 R2, MS SQL SERVER 2019 including T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS and SSAS
  • Proficient in Microsoft development in C#, Windows Powershell, Visual Basic and Crystal Reporting
  • Effective troubleshooting and performance tuning skills - should be able to identify and resolve moderate performance issues
  • Demonstrated understanding of relational database design and architecture
  • Demonstrated ability to develop online reporting solutions that meet business need
  • Minimum of 5 years with experience in designing and building interactive and visual dashboards for delivering information for senior leadership
  • Customer service with ability to develop effective partnerships across the organization
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and analytical skills
  • Ability to organize, plan, and carry out multiple concurrent objectives or activities, and effectively make judgments in prioritizing and time allocation
  • Ability to work independently

 

Academic and Professional Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree preferred or other relevant combination of training and experience.

 

Experience:

  • 5-10 years Industry experience preferred
  • 7-10 years practical experience in providing technical support and maintenance in assigned product preferred

 

Travel Requirements:

  • May require local travel
  • May require other travel for business needs

Working Arrangements:

  • May require after hours on call support
  • Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
