As a Lead Design Engineer you will be responsible for;
- Lead and coordinate subprojects from the initial concept phase through series production, ensuring timely and high-quality product development.
- Ensure compliance with all technical, legal, and customer-specific requirements, continuously improving adherence to these standards.
- Guarantee that all internal and external quality standards are met.
- Analyze and assess internal and external changes, collaborate in negotiations (e.g., volume and cost changes), and ensure their implementation.
- Prepare, review, and finalize project reports, presentations, and conclusion documentation.
- Supervise technical designers in creating technical and conceptual drawings.
- Oversee the generation and approval of 3D models of technical parts, ensuring they meet customer and legal requirements.
- Ensure accurate creation and maintenance of documentation for new, modified, and purchased parts, with proper data storage in PLM and effective data transfer.
- Participate in FMEA documentation processes.
- Define and verify special and critical product characteristics.
- Manage developed parts through to series production, evaluating alternatives and recommending product solutions for component/assembly issues during development.
- Maintain customer interactions, attend customer meetings, and handle technical correspondence.
- Define tasks, identify problems, analyze them, and develop recommended solutions, clarifications, or opportunities for realization, with support for practical implementation.
- Collaborate with production/tooling teams to ensure design feasibility.
- Ensure all deliverables are completed on time.
- Monitor design progress and allocate design resources accordingly.
- Ensure both external and internal timelines and milestones are met.
Qualifications;
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 1-10 years of experience in product development or project management.
- Proven experience in leading and coordinating projects from conception through to production.
- Strong understanding of technical, legal, and customer-specific requirements.
- Experience with FMEA processes and defining product characteristics.
- Proficiency in preparing and reviewing technical documentation and reports.
- Strong supervisory skills for overseeing technical designers and approving 3D models.
- Excellent communication skills for customer interactions and technical correspondence.
- Ability to identify problems, analyze them, and develop effective solutions.
- Strong organizational skills to monitor design progress and allocate resources.
- Experience in collaborating with production/tooling teams for design feasibility.
- Commitment to meeting internal and external quality standards and timelines.
- Active participation in company activities and programs related to quality, improvement, training, human resources, security, hygiene, and environment.
Salary Range: $100,000-150,000
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
