As (Quality Leader) you will be responsible for;

The Global Advanced Supplier Quality (ASQ) Leader supervises a group of Advanced Supplier Quality Engineers assigned to one OEM program platform split in multiple product lines and/or vehicle models. He/she coordinate the supplier’s APQP performance (timing, quality, delivery, service) between multiple ASQ Engineers across the same platform from program award to launch and supports the deliverables of the Program Quality Leaders and Program Purchasing Leaders.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the ASQ Engineers’ workload and supplier breakup by commodity and location to optimize communication and relationship with the suppliers
  • Promote internal communication and harmony within the ASQ Engineers about program information, customer specific requirements and other Quality tools and methods
  • Monitor and ensure consistency of the APQP progress status with the program team to meet internal and external milestones and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requirements
  • Identify skillset gaps and recommend/conduct training course to bring ASQ Engineers at the required competency level
  • On behalf of the ASQ team, propose recommendations on technical choices to ensure the product/process robustness during program development (for both suppliers and Faurecia plant)
  • Anticipate and evaluate supplier risks that might impact the global platform and support the ASQ Engineers managing the mitigation plan
  • Support and coach the ASQ Engineers in problem-solving method and with underperforming suppliers involved in program in collaboration with Division Supplier Quality Development (SQD) if necessary
  • Capture past Warranty issues and lessons learned for new BOP development
  • He/She is the voice of the supplier inside the customer business unit, but he/she represents client while visiting suppliers
  • Propose continuous improvement ideas in business efficiency and cost reduction
  • Capitalizes on knowledge and shares best practices / lessons learned across organization and within facilities

Position Specifications

  • In case of temporary replacement of an ASQ Engineer (e.g., Vacation, training, sickness, etc.) he/she is assuming the same level of authority:
  • Review and approve each Suppliers’ deliverable of the 31 APQP elements
  • Conduct process audit at supplier site to validate run at rate and approve BOP PPAP / PSW
  • Request and approve the supplier root-cause analysis and other problem-solving activities to confirm the effectiveness of the corrective actions and process improvements
  • Quarantine incoming prototype or preproduction nonconforming goods in the development phase
  • Authorizes temporary quality wall implementation or third-party sorting in order to protect the customer (internal/external)
  • Request correcting supplied product in case of product specification requirement is not met (Fit, form, function)
  • Check and assess in ePPAP the uploaded evidence is relevant for each APQP element and the associated Green/Yellow/Red status
  • Reporting to upper management/leadership on supplied product issues. Escalation must be reported immediately upon observance of S&R non-compliance
  • Has the authorization to approve purchases with corporate credit card

Qualifications;

  • Knowledge of automotive quality standards and methods (ISO-9001, IATF-16949, VDA 6.3, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, etc.)
  • OEM specific quality requirements
  • Company’s products and technologies
  • Client Management System and Quality Basics
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Proficient level of English
  • Education / Experience:
  • Minimum education level: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Management or technician with equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of proven Quality function experience in the Automotive industry.
  • Experience with various Quality system methodologies: 8D, 3 Legs and 5 Why´s, LEAN manufacturing, Pareto analysis and statistical studies
  • Certified Auditor in Automotive requirements (ISO 9001/ IATF 16949, VDA, etc.) preferred
  • Certified in all AIAG/VDA Core Tools (PPAP, MSA, FMEA, APQP, SPC) preferred
