Position Summary:

The Controller will manage all accounting, financial reporting, and finance-related compliance functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and integrity in all financial aspects of our operations. This role is pivotal to shaping and implementing financial strategies in alignment with the growth of our Crypto business. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of traditional financial expertise and a strong understanding of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee all financial transactions, including crypto assets, and ensure compliance with both internal policies and external regulations.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for year-end audits and regulatory reporting.
  • Manage and optimize the accounting processes related to cryptocurrency transactions, including digital asset reconciliation.
  • Own the accounts receivable and general ledger functions, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping.
  • Design and implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to provide insights on financial performance and strategic initiatives.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process, integrating metrics specific to the crypto industry.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between finance and other departments, providing guidance on crypto asset accounting, financial implications, and compliance.
  • Partner with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to emerging regulatory frameworks and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • An advanced understanding of GAAP is a plus, as is familiarity with crypto accounting practices and standards. Knowledge of IFRS is also a plus. 
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with a minimum of 3 years in a management-level role (experience in crypto, fintech, or technology sector preferred).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Sage Intacct a plus); experience with blockchain-based financial tools is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and adapt to evolving industry regulations.
