Your Role:

The Technology Consultant will operate as the technical expert interfacing with our enterprise customers around the world to help scope and support product integrations from conception to launch, in the following ways:

  • Sales process : Driving product discovery to help formulate a product MVP as well as providing product demonstrations. 
  • Onboarding Integration : Supporting the integration project as the primary technical resource
  • Post Integration: Providing any additional solutioning a partner needs completed such as implementing a new feature

Internally, the Technology Consultant will be a key partner to many teams which includes but is not limited to Product, Engineering, Brokerage Operations, Sales, and Customer Success. Simply put, the technology consultant is the voice of the customer internally at Alpaca. 

As a technical resource in a highly collaborative role, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong solution orientation, as well as being an excellent communicator, troubleshooter, project manager, and team player.

Things You Get To Do:

  • Establish yourself as a subject matter expert of Alpaca’s API and collaborate with fintechs around the world
  • Stay updated on internal product development timelines and work closely with the product team to test and roll out new features to partners
  • Ensure feature requests or bugs reported by partners is communicated to the product and engineering teams and properly prioritized
  • Support the sales and success team with technical advice and actively drive the technology evaluation stage of our prospective and current enterprise customers
  • Attend weekly partners meetings for integrations alongside the project managers and asynchronously answer questions related to the product offering and provide solutions to unblock the partners
  • Create internal and external resources that can be leveraged by both partners and internal teams

Who You Are (Must-Haves):

  • Enterprise-level business project experience with strong process, analysis, design, and documentation skills. Prior experience in a consulting role is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with superior verbal and written communication skills for English speaking clients to drive clarity on goals, setting expectations, and collecting feedback.
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and attention to detail to deliver high quality output while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong tech background:
    • RDBMS experience (we use Postgres). Familiarity with metabase is a plus.
    • Experience with modern APIs (REST, Websockets, Server Sent Events).
    • Experience with enterprise software implementations.
    • Strong technical troubleshooting skills. Experience with issue management (JIRA) and API logging tools.
    • Familiarity with Postman and curl requests
  • Flexibility to work with customers around the world
  • Familiarity and interest in FinTech, financial markets, investing applications. FinTech work experience is a plus, especially with a broker dealer business.
  • Startup mindset.

 Who You Might Be (Nice-to-Haves):  

  • Sales and customer success background leading the customer’s experience through pre-sales and post-sales. Sales training / enablement experience is a plus.
  • Programming experience (we use Golang).
  • Experience with version control (we use git).
  • Experience with FIX protocol is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Readme, OpenAPI yaml specification and documentation best practices.
