OVERVIEW

The Lab Coordinator will be a detail-oriented person with experience in project management and operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance processes related to bulk lots coming into our warehouses in Montebello, lab testing samples, lab record-keeping, and cross-functional test requests. The role requires excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Verifies all requirements of test samples to include specimen preparation and labeling accuracy prior to and after testing.
  • Maintain laboratory records following ISO 17025 and other lab best practices.
  • Maintain organization of sample intake area
  • Assists in recording all information required in the system, on department forms, worksheets, printouts, and swatch cards, etc.
  • Utilizes computer systems to track incoming test requests, bulk lot inspections, workload, personnel and operations schedules, etc., and manage database.
  • Manages Laboratory inventory (supplies, consumables, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish
  • Flexibility to move between daily tasks and urgent issues and back seamlessly.
  • Ability to prioritize based on knowledge of issues, pending projects, lab capacity and capabilities, and test request information.
  • Quickly learn processes and protocols that will make lab operations, transparency, and reporting more efficient.
  • Positive energy and willingness to work with multiple different personality types and communication styles.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Assist Senior Lab Manager with any duties needed.
  • Willing to provide constructive feedback on processes and protocols.
  • Respectful and professional team player with excellent communication skills – verbal, written, and presentation.
  • Assist Lab Personnel with reporting and communication with Cross-Functional Teams.
  • Will assist and coordinate lab priorities with the Nicaragua Laboratory Team
  • College degree in Science or Math with 1-2 years QC experience in Textiles (or related field) and project management experience OR High School Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years QC experience in Textiles (or related field) and project management experience
  • Computer skills, excellent knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint with prior experience with datasheets, reports, and presentation.
  • Proficiency in Asana or another time/project management software is preferred.
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of professionalism and deliver results against tight and complex timelines.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills are required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards.

The range for this position is $28.00/hour - $34.00/hour which represents the current range for this non-exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
