Overview:

As the International Buyer, you will be partnering closely with the Merchandising & Merchandise Planning team to drive the success and rapid growth of the international business by conducting detailed and complete analysis based on market-specific trend and historical selling data. At Alo, the buying team is responsible for bottom-up planning by forecasting the unit sales of any given seasonal & carryover style-color within their division. They are expected to use their fashion intuition as well as their very strong financial skills to accurately put together the buys, rank the assortment and give recommendations based on their findings.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Merchandise Planning Team to execute buys per market
  • Ensure buys are not overstated or understated to help drive channel financial targets & KPIs.
  • Analyze sales in-season (weekly) and post-season (quarterly) and utilize learnings to inform current and future season actions, strategies, and assortments.
  • Drive growth by partnering with Merchandising team to help develop assortment strategies specific to your market with respect to category split, store capacities, SKU count, breadth vs. depth, and new vs. carryover.
  • Partner with the Merchandise & Store Planning Teams to identify opportunities, conduct risk analysis, provide action plans, prepare bottom-up reporting including hindsight decks.
  • Attend all pertinent meetings for your divisions and provide recommendations for your markets as needed based on knowledge of trend and selling data.
  • Communicate business needs with internal cross-functional partners, including Merchandise Planning, Store Planning, Merchandising, Marketing, Design, & Production.
  • As needed, partner with the Planning team to monitor inventory by country to maximize sales potential of each sku through out the product life cycle to ensure a cohesive assortment; limited exit strategy options
  • Conduct PO Management tasks such as tracking and monitoring Warehouse ETAs and in-turn advise the Merchandising Team whether launch dates will be met or at risk.
  • Analyze international prices on a regular basis and suggest strategic action plans

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS preferred.
  • 4-6 years of experience in buying/planning/merchandising
  • Knowledge of the European and Korean Markets a plus
  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Creative, results-oriented who possesses excellent prioritization and project management skills, and who has a strong sense of focus, organization, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • A positive go-getter and team player, who can also work independently with the ability to troubleshoot and work in a fast-moving, multi-tasking environment with numerous deadlines.
  • Highly proficient in using the MS Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

The base salary range for this position is $90,000-$105,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
