Manager, Employee Engagement, Equity & Social Impact

The Manager of Employee Engagement, Equity & Social Impact will play a critical role in fostering a culture of inclusion, belonging, and engagement across Alma. Reporting to the Senior Director of Employee Engagement, Equity, and Inclusion, this role will focus on designing and implementing initiatives that support the company’s mission through the lens of employee engagement, equity and social impact initiatives. 

In the short term, you will craft and lead employee engagement initiatives such as onboarding programs, employee recognition, and internal events that build community and promote inclusion. 

In the long term, you will support the execution of Alma’s DEI mission and Employee Engagement, Equity & Social Impact (EE, E & I) strategy by developing and leading targeted programs and initiatives that align with company goals. You’ll support internal communication efforts to ensure employees are informed, engaged, and aligned with Alma’s mission and strategic priorities.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with the EE, E & I team to ensure alignment between organizational values and the employee experience.
  • Conduct surveys, focus groups, and other feedback mechanisms to capture employee insights and identify areas for improvement. Analyze DEI and employee engagement data to identify trends and design targeted interventions to address potential challenges.  
  • Oversee and manage Alma’s Employee Resource Group program to amplify their impact, providing strategic guidance, tools, mapping and resources to enhance their contributions to Alma’s culture. Create an internal DEI programming calendar to celebrate diversity and cultural months.
  • Assist in crafting messaging for company-wide communications, including emails, presentations, and all-hands meetings. Partner with the People & Culture team to measure the effectiveness of communication efforts for continuously improving employee engagement.  
  • Partner with the Sr. Manager of EE, E & I to maintain external partnerships with stakeholders and organizations that support Alma’s mission.

Who you are:

  • You have 3-5 years of experience leading employee engagement initiatives or related employee lifecycle support for a nationwide, remote workforce
  • You have expertise in creating and crafting innovative communication methods to engage employees and promote key initiatives.
  • You have solid project management skills, with experience overseeing the end-to-end employee lifecycle.
  • You have used data to gather employee insights and make recommendations on how to iterate engagement strategies accordingly. You’re confident when measuring the impact of your work and determining next steps to achieve business goals.
  • You can serve as a cultural champion, driving initiatives that reinforce Alma’s values and mission while supporting a high-performance, inclusive work environment.

Salary Band: $110,000 - $135,000

Alma’s compensation philosophy is driven by our company value of building equity. To best ensure pay equity, we typically bring in new hires near the middle of our listed salary bands and we do not negotiate our compensation (i.e. all people hired at the same level & role are brought in at the same salary, equity, and benefits).
