Alma is on a mission to simplify access to high-quality, affordable mental health care. We do this by making it easy and financially rewarding for therapists to accept insurance and offer in-network care. When a provider joins Alma, they gain access to a suite of tools that not only help them better run their business, but also grow it sustainably and develop as a provider. Alma is available in all 50 states, with over 20,000 therapists in our growing network. Anyone looking for a therapist can browse Alma’s free directory. Alma has raised $220.5M in funding from Insight Partners, Optum Ventures, Tusk Venture Partners, Primary Venture Partners, First Round Capital, Sound Ventures, BoxGroup, Cigna Ventures, and Rainfall Ventures. Alma was also named one of Inc’s Best Workplaces in 2022 and 2023.

Community Engagement Manager

At Alma, we are redefining what it means to be part of a professional therapeutic community. Alma’s Community Engagement Manager will be responsible for designing events, partnerships, and programs that support genuine connection amongst our members and drive engagement with our Community ecosystem. You empathize with members, work hard to understand their needs, and work with your team to design and iterate on programming that both meets member needs and drives business objectives. You are rigorous about how you set up programs for success and take a data-driven approach to measure the impact of your work. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Community.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop a comprehensive and inclusive strategy to increase community engagement through live virtual and async events, strategic partnerships, and programs that foster connection between members and grow Alma’s community of providers.
    • Create the playbook to scale community events, partnerships, and programs, driving consistent provider engagement.
    • Build processes and systems to execute our engagement strategy, seamlessly meeting budget and deadline constraints.
  • Devise initiatives, experiences, and products that actively engage providers, and encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing, and connection.
  • Develop a calendar of engaging events, including guest speakers, interactive activities, and wellness activities that are creative and targeted to the various needs of our members, identify business opportunities (e.g. new member engagement/churn mitigation, geo-specific and local meetups), and scale with our expanding membership.
    • Develop, collaborate, and consult on event content/curriculum.
  • Research, identify, and operationalize potential partnerships that drive meaningful benefits to our members wherever they are. Initiate and maintain ongoing communication with potential partners to explore collaboration opportunities, negotiate terms, and secure mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Work with our DE&I team to make sure we foster DE&I values in all that we do and build community programming.
  • Spend time with our members, develop genuine relationships, and identify members of our community to build with, not for, with the ultimate goal of cultivating community leaders and committees within our community.
  • Perform data-driven analysis on community metrics to measure the success of our programs, make recommendations, and surface themes to internal stakeholders
  • Work closely with Marketing to thoughtfully bring programs to market, drive adoption, and increase engagement with the Community.

Who You Are:

  • You have 3-5 years on a community, customer engagement, or marketing team building meaningful community programs. Bonus if you have experience leading virtual events.
  • You have extraordinarily high EQ. You’re a relationship-builder who is energized by others, eager to make connections with like-minded people, and able to quickly develop a strong rapport with both individuals and large groups.
  • You have strong experiential and technical acumen - you know how to create and produce thoughtful, engaging events and programs that deliver against strategic objectives and are tailored for the intended audience.
  • You’re organized, determined, and detail-oriented with strong project management skills where you can clearly prioritize your work.
  • You’re analytical and have quantitative problem-solving abilities - this means you can make your way comfortably around a Google sheet and synthesize insights from data.
  • You’re a strategic thinker who can surface problems, develop recommendations, and implement solutions.
  • You’re independent - able to effectively handle ambiguous problems and challenges and drive your initiatives with minimal input.
  • You have a deep passion for our mission and the future of mental health.
