All Turtles, founded in 2017, is a global studio of product and brand experts merging technological innovation with a human perspective. We invest in and collaborate with early-stage startups and founders, and also create our own products. We design thoughtful user experiences, develop pragmatic brands and products, and use simple, direct business models to improve workplaces and enhance people's quality of life.

As part of the All Turtles design team, you’ll join a deeply collaborative, world-class group of product experts that propels early-stage startups and incubates innovative products, always pursuing quality over quantity. From improving workplace communication to empowering employees or improving health outcomes, All Turtles engages with a broad yet selective set of problems that matter deeply to us and reflect our point of view.

We’re looking for a highly experienced, digital-native designer to work in partnership with mmhmm, one of our studio companies. In this role, you’ll find fresh ways to bring mmhmm’s brand and visual expression to life across channels, supporting the launch of exciting new features and enhancements. You’ll push pixels but also participate in strategic conversations to shape how those new products communicate who they are and what they do.

If you enjoy thinking holistically about brand and working across every facet of identity and marketing—from style guides and design systems to websites and campaigns—this role could be a fit. We’re looking for someone who loves hands-on design work but can also contribute strategically to the growth of mmhmm and provide constructive feedback to design peers working on other All Turtles projects.

YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Bringing digital brand and marketing initiatives for mmhmm, the groundbreaking hybrid video app, to the next level through designs and assets for websites, campaigns, videos, email journeys and social media.
  • Partnering with mmhmm’s current Principal Brand Designer to define, develop, and deliver mmhmm’s visual design systems and digital brand experiences.
  • Collaborating with content, brand, product, developers, and design leadership to ideate and create smart design solutions for new and existing brand and marketing challenges.
  • Contributing to and improving our design culture (best practices, tools, deliverables, communications, relationships, etc.)
  • Handling a continually changing workload.
  • Leading dedicated project teams in design thinking.

IDEALLY, YOU’LL HAVE:

  • 5-10 years experience in digital brand design.
  • An outstanding eye for detail and consistency, combined with a deep understanding of branding, typography, color, usability, grid systems, web and mobile-first frameworks.
  • Strong sense of concept development and visual storytelling, in addition to communication, collaboration, research, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • Solid visual and digital design foundation (typography, layout, storyboarding, UX, experimentation, etc.).
  • Proficiency with leading design software including Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.
  • Ability to see an assignment from inception to completion in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to juggle multiple, varying projects.
  • Experience building out and evolving a wide range of digital brand and marketing deliverables.
  • Experience working with early-stage companies.
  • Experience with testing and experimentation.
  • Understanding of the interplay between design and business.

Our Principles

We optimize for impact per person and individual ownership of our work, which often means taking the initiative to incubate projects or rolling up our sleeves to get things done.

All Turtles is fully distributed, with team members around the globe. As a company, we recognize that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. We believe you should be able to work where you can have the most significant impact and live where you can have your best life.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $174,000 to $185,000 for a full-time employee based in the United States, but it may vary depending on your specific skills and experience. We’ve invested the time and effort to develop salary levels for all of our roles, for both individual contributors and managers. These levels are based on national compensation data and are weighted to be competitive in the most expensive markets in the US. Final leveling and cash compensation will be determined at the end of the interview process.

Benefits

In addition to base salary, our team receives equity and several other benefits. For example, we offer all US employees and their dependents comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, covering 90% of the premium for employees and 70% for qualifying dependents. US-based employees may also participate in our 401(k) program, and we also offer life insurance.

Everyone on the team is eligible to receive a bonus for meeting colleagues in person (an opportunity to build precious relationship capital with teammates) and a monthly supplement we add to everyone’s payroll for you to set up a productive and distraction-free work environment, no strings attached, and no receipts required.

How We Work

We’ve recently decided to work in seasonally-focused periods with limited breaks, followed by two consecutive weeks off that the entire company takes simultaneously. This means we work hard from January through early July, take a break to rest and reset, then refocus on output from mid-July through late December before taking another break at the end of the year. Of course, it means other things too, but we’ll explain that when we get into the interview process.

This Principal Brand Designer role is a Full time position reporting to Director of Design. Our distributed team works primarily across North American, South American, as well as western European time zones. While this role is partly asynchronous, the ability to work hours that overlap with those time zones is preferred.

All Turtles is committed to creating and fostering a diverse team. We encourage people from underrepresented backgrounds and all walks of life to apply, and we’re committed to providing reasonable accommodations to all applicants throughout the application process.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
