the role.

We are looking for a thoughtful, motivated, structured Copywriter to join our in-house Creative Team. Our studio is a busy hub, built to shape and grow our brand into a beloved household name.

As the go-to person for words, you will be passionate about bringing a brand to life across a wide variety of formats. From tote-bags to product pages, tone of voice guidelines to eco-friendly print materials you will play an essential role in shaping our brand voice across all digital and print touch-points, actively involved in creative concepting across marketing, and proposition projects. You will report into our Head of Creative Projects, Katie, and will take part in defining the Creative Team culture as we build and grow.

The role is full time and based in Seven Sisters, London.

what you’ll do.

The scope & main responsibilities of this role are detailed below. This isn’t fully exhaustive but covers the main elements of first 6-12 months.

Tone of voice + brand proposition 

  • Work to define and develop Tone of Voice guidelines alongside Alex (one of our co-founders), and Katie (our Head of Creative Projects)

  • Geek out on getting to know our customers, putting them and their needs at the heart of our communications

Marketing and campaigns
  • Work with Marketing across a wide range of channels to bring our brand voice to life and communicate who we are.

  • Play an integral role in developing campaigns from flagpole content to full 360 campaigns

  • Taking concept to execution with a designer on a variety of direct marketing activations, from events series to in box giveaways

  • Explore and work on new print opportunities for customer retention and acquisition

Social and content

  • Help to craft our social channels by guiding and writing post copy

  • Concept ideas for keeping our social content on point and relevant in an ever-shifting online dialogue
  • Write scripts for YouTube

Digital and web

  • Work with the Product Team to identify key priority areas to re-write, you will be responsible for ensuring the copy on the site is on brand

Team and culture

  • Our creative team will be growing with our brand, and you will play a major role in defining how that happens. This means proactive head hunting, being involved in the interview process, and helping with team onboarding

  • As a mid level creative you should naturally be inclined to mentor more junior team members, sharing your expertise to accelerate their growth and strengthening our team as a whole

what you’ll need.

We’re open-minded and believe smart driven people can learn fast, you’ll be a great fit here if you are:
  • You have 3-5 years experience working for a high-growth start up or as part of a busy agency.
  • You are keen to shape the team culture as well as crafting the brand voice.
  • You enjoy being a non-specialist, able to turn your hand (or keyboard) to a wide range of copywriting challenges. You have a portfolio full of examples of copy across multiple channels as a result.
  • You have proven experience shaping brand guidelines and TOV, considering the values of the brand as opposed to your personal style.
  • You are an able communicator, happy to present to internal team members and discussing your ideas and rationale with confidence
  • You are playful. You understand how to be engaging and delight readers without being keen and try-hard.
  • You are proactive with a can-do attitude, full of great ideas and able to get stuff done autonomously.
  • You are a perfectionist who knows when to let go; happy to craft and fine tune but able to hold that in tension with the pace of the business.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and take feedback well, knowing how to ask the right questions to mine for understanding in order to keep projects moving.
  • You are highly organised and communicate well with stakeholders and project management on project progress.
  • You bring a sense of humour, high energy, and passion for the plant-powered future we’re building.
