The Senior Internal Auditor will be responsible for performing process, financial, and compliance audits in accordance with IIA standards.  The Senior Internal Auditor will primarily be responsible for assessing the design and operating effectiveness of company controls to support management’s SOX compliance efforts as well as business process effectiveness reviews.  The position will be reporting directly to the Internal Audit Manager.

Responsibilities

The Senior Internal Auditor primary job responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Internal Audit Manager and VP of Internal Audit with the planning, execution, and reporting of audit projects as well as the successful execution of the overall Internal Audit plan
  • Reviewing operational and business risks to determine and recommend scope of proposed audits
  • Executing audit projects designed to provide an assessment of internal control process and operational performance
  • Identifying opportunities for control and/or process improvements in pre/post-implementation of IT systems, upgrades, and other major initiatives
  • Performing and documenting walkthrough and testing procedures to assess company SOX compliance
  • Providing verbal and written reports to all levels of management during and after completion of projects
  • Collaborating with and educating business process owners regarding the importance of maintaining strong internal controls and Internal Audit’s role
  • Coordinating with external auditors and consultants to ensure effective and efficient audit procedures
  • Assisting with the implementation of robotic process automation to strengthen controls/create process efficiencies
  • Other duties as assigned 

Requirements

  • BS in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • A minimum of three years of relevant audit experience, Big 4/national accounting firm or public company experience a plus
  • CPA/CIA or other relevant certification required
  • Proficient in MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Solid understanding of the COSO Internal Control – Integrated Framework and concepts
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in analyzing problems, with proficiency in assessing risk and evaluating internal controls
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present control analysis and recommendations with clarity and professionalism
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, including ability to prioritize multiple duties and meet deadlines
  • Experience managing projects
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time
