Alarm.com, a fast-growing entrepreneurial technology company is seeking an experienced paralegal to join our team. The paralegal will work with departments across the company to provide general legal support, coordinate and manage the department’s workflow process, and maintain various corporate and compliance records. The legal team supports all aspects of the company’s business operations, including commercial contracts, intellectual property, employment, litigation, securities, financial reporting, corporate development, and strategic activities. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about learning new things and contributing to the growth of the department and the company as a whole.
Responsibilities
- Independently managing and administering the legal intake process, including triaging a high volume of incoming emails using independent judgment to assign, track, and resolve a wide range of legal matters
- Independently managing the full-cycle contract management process, including drafting, reviewing, facilitating approval and signature, uploading, and retrieving agreements
- Independently developing and driving operational project and process improvement initiatives, policies, and procedures to support legal department and business
- Managing corporate records, compliance requirements, insurance policies, intellectual property portfolio, litigation support, SEC filings, and board documents
Additional Responsibilities:
The paralegal will handle a variety of other tasks as assigned, some of which will be administrative in nature, including:
- Assisting attorneys with diligence projects and legal research requests
- Responding to administrative requests (e.g., vendor forms, notarization, purchase order requests)
- Supporting litigation, working with outside counsel as necessary
- Managing outside counsel invoices and budgeting
Requirements:
- 5+ years of paralegal experience in a corporate, commercial, in-house, and/or large law firm environment, with technology industry experience a plus
- Strong ability to operate independently and take initiative, own projects, and juggle and prioritize multiple projects in a demanding, fast-paced environment
- Highly organized with superior attention to detail
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with a wide range of legal matters including contracts, litigation, IP, regulatory and compliance issues
- Tech-savvy and highly skilled in multiple software platforms and able to master new technologies quickly and troubleshoot issues independently
