Description:

We are searching for a Field Application Scientist - North East America with expertise in the application of instrumentation and molecular assays in the discovery and implementation of biomarkers. This role will leverage your expertise to provide scientific and technical support to Alamar’s automated instrument system for high-precision proteomic analysis. Reporting to the Senior Director of Field Application, you will collaborate closely with the sales, marketing and research and development teams to continue to grow our business.  The Field Application Scientist will collaboratively work as part of the commercial team to support conference and department presentations, content development and competitive analysis.  This is a hands-on role that offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on life science research and early disease diagnosis within a rapidly expanding company.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the primary point of contact for technical and scientific support needs for customers as well as providing technical support.
  • Conduct remote and in-lab product training and evaluations for customers.
  • Manage technical support cases and associated escalations ensuring customers receive timely and accurate resolutions.
  • As a foundational member of the team, contribute to the building of the technical knowledgebase and processes to facilitate scaling of support as the user base expands.
  • Apply your expertise in biomarker discovery to guide the development, enhancement and positioning of our proteomics platform.
  • Collaborate with internal R&D teams during the product development cycle, providing critical insights and technical support.
  • Contribute to the creation of customer training materials and documentation, working closely with internal resources.
  • Assist in the scaling of our CRM toolset, ensuring effective integration with ERP and marketing automation.
  • Deliver scientific presentations at conferences and webinars, showcasing the capabilities of Alamar's products.
  • Provide expert technical knowledge during discussions about Alamar's product offerings.
  • Cultivate and manage collaborations with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in coordination with sales, marketing and R&D teams.
  • Handle customer complaints and accurately track them using CRM systems.
  • Gather valuable Voice of Customer insights to inform product improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in molecular biology, or related field with experience in biomarker discovery; or equivalent combination of relevant degree and experience 
  • A demonstrated strong background in multiplex data analysis.
  • Pragmatic thinker with a clear and effective approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong orientation towards process improvement and unwavering commitment to quality.
  • Prior experience in commercial roles in the fields of proteomics, NGS, or related life sciences is preferred.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse personalities both inside and outside the company.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information with clarity.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $135,000 - $150,000. Our salary ranges are determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The ranges displayed on each job posting reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries but are subject to change if the leveling of the role is adjusted.
