A Snapshot

Working closely with the Tax team in Sydney HQ, you will make your mark in a number of ways with your positive attitude, ability to work independently and to get things done in a dynamic environment. This is a greenfield opportunity to craft our approach to tax reporting regionally in a rapidly growing business.

Your Day to Day

In this role, your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Managing tax reporting obligations for the group across the Asia Pacific region including Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and India;
  • Leading all aspects of all tax reporting across direct taxes, indirect taxes, employee taxes and transfer pricing;
  • Driving continuous operational improvements;
  • Contributing to the team’s implementation of the group’s country by country reporting across the region;
  • Forecasting positions for the region including consideration of new laws such as Pillar 2;
  • Continuing to maintain & enhance our global transfer pricing framework and models;
  • Contributing to designing processes & controls for our global tax fixed asset register project, platform integration & implementation in the Asia Pacific region
  • Seeking opportunities for automation;
  • Establishing a framework for data analytics, policies & procedures and risk management;
  • Reviewing the individual jurisdictions’ effective tax rate on an interim basis;
  • Conducting operational reviews of our positions across the region; and
  • Providing support on ad hoc tax advisory matters.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years’ experience in a similar tax role;
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment;
  • Appropriate professional qualifications (CA or equivalent, Solicitor’s admission etc);
  • Proven track record of working independently to complete strategic priorities; and
  • A self-starter with a growth mindset.
