Procurement Director - Sourcing and Execution

As the Procurement Director – Sourcing & Execution, working on some of the most innovative and largest data centre projects in APJ, you will report to our Head of Procurement and work closely with the core business functions focussed on sourcing & execution across the data center asset lifecycle, making your mark in several ways:

• Lead the creation and execution of sourcing strategies customised for both established and new markets, guaranteeing consistent and timely delivery of AirTrunk's state-of-the-art hyperscale data centers across various categories encompassing the design, delivery, and operation of our data center assets
• Ensure continuous improvement in operational efficiency with an unwavering focus on safety, quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness, emphasizing thorough evaluation of total costs and sustainability measures.
• Facilitate strategic partnerships, enhance supplier performance, and foster collaborative relationships to position AirTrunk as the preferred partner for suppliers across all aspects of our industry. Support the team in implementing effective strategies to drive this objective forward.

Your Day to Day

• Ensure clear communication and alignment among stakeholders, keeping them updated on relevant developments.
• Build and nurture high-performing teams across the function, including scaling teams to build maturity in alignment with AirTrunks growth
• Establish robust procurement programs to guarantee a reliable and efficient supply chain, delivering projects with industry-leading safety, quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
• Continuously monitor market conditions and adapt procurement programs and strategies to ensure consistent and reliable product and project deliveries in collaboration with the procurement Strategy & Innovation hub
• Drive innovation, initiatives, and continuous improvements within the procurement function.
• Establish procurement objectives aligned with AirTrunk’s business objectives & evaluate procurement performance through dashboard metrics.
• Develop and present business cases with appropriate justifications for executive and board-level approvals.
• Create user-friendly reporting and dashboards for executives, project teams, and other stakeholders.
• Implement streamlined processes and procedures, along with metrics to quantify team performance.
• Develop and uphold procurement policies, processes, and corporate governance standards.
• Cultivate strategic partnerships both internally and externally.
• Own and manage strategic procurement programs for owner-supplied equipment (OSE), consultants, contractors, and other suppliers as required.
• Collaborate closely with the supply chain team to enhance end-to-end value.
• Working closely with the supply chain team to proactively manage third party risk across the procurement lifecycle.
• Lead procurement schedules for each project, ensuring procurement aligns with project programs and requirements.
• Develop, review, and manage tender packages, contracts, and contract compliance processes.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and laws.
• Identify and onboard new vendors, consultants, contractors, etc., to maintain a reliable supply chain.
• Support vendor prequalification and onboarding processes.
• Assist in developing cost plans and budgets for pre-tender estimates.
• Communicate expectations to internal teams and foster positive relationships to achieve desired outcomes.
• Oversee vendor performance reviews, implement continuous improvements, and capture lessons learned.
• Establish measurable performance metrics for procurement activities at all levels, including buyer and supplier performance, safety, quality, risk management, cost savings, and sustainability.
• Travel to data center sites and vendor facilities for project-related activities as required.

Requirements

• Equivalent experience in construction and management of procurement strategies, tendering frameworks and standard methodology, including experience in contract negotiations across different regions throughout APJ
• Equivalent experience with strategic sourcing of major equipment for data center projects.
• Data centre/tier 1 construction experience is a huge plus, coupled with experience across the APAC/APJ region
• Commercial experience in procurement and delivery of complex and high-value contracts
• Experience with practical application of commercial principles in data centre/construction/mission critical industries; strong business intuition to solve complex procurement and commercial issues
• In-depth knowledge of procurement models
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and can communicate and influence at senior levels
• Outstanding team management and time management skills
• Resilient and proactive with the ability to work at pace in an evolving and demanding environment
