A Snapshot

As the HR Generalist based in our Tokyo office you will report directly to the Country People & Culture Manager – Japan, making your mark in a number of ways:

  • Responsible for crafting a phenomenal experience for AirTrunkers across the employee lifecycle
  • Provide support to the wider business on day to day on all people-related initiatives
  • Advocate for AirTrunk both internally and externally as an ambassador of AirTrunk's values
  • Handle sensitive and high-confidential matters expertly and with discretion.

Your Day to Day

  • You will provide HR operations support to employees, and help employees navigate all aspects of the end-to-end employment lifecycle.
  • Remain up to date on local employment legislation and compliance
  • Run and support strict compliance with the quality, occupational safety and environmental legislation, such as Health & Safety Committee, engage with corporate doctor, conduct Stress Check, etc
  • Conduct attendance check, payroll, and social insurance related matters and answer any inquiries that employees may have
  • Work closely with our payroll vendor/labour and social security attorney to ensure proper administration of benefits such as Healthcare, Pension, etc are in place
  • Assist in drafting labour agreement, local work rules, company policies
  • Maintain and update internal HR documentation & support all employee personnel files and ensure all relevant documentation is in place and accurate
  • Support in the delivery of People & Culture programs and processes related to workforce planning, employee engagement, performance reviews, promotion process, talent development, and overall talent management
  • Ad-hoc HR duties which arise in a scaling organization

Requirements

  • 5 + years of experience in HR function
  • Sufficient experience with general office administrative work.
  • Knowledge of local Labour Law, HR procedures, including payroll
  • Proficient in English (min C1 level) and Japanese (min N1 level)
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in Japanese
  • You have worked with all levels of employees and management, and can work collaboratively across all teams
  • Ability to work independently on own initiative, using good judgement and discretion
  • Able to prioritize and meet deadlines with a high attention to detail and accuracy, and a strong focus on quality of work
  • Proactive and strive for efficient and effective process improvements
  • Being flexible and quick to adapt in the face of changing priorities and fast paced environment
