Opportunity:

The Connector Operations team’s mission is to ensure Airbyte’s catalog of over 300+ connectors is easy to work with and manage, for both connector developers and Airbyte users.  This includes the overall monitoring of the quality and performance of our connectors along with the process to build, test, monitor, publish, and certify them.  We also ensure that connectors are a pleasure to discover, install, and upgrade within the Airbyte product.   We are building the ‘app store’ for Airbyte Connectors - getting connector management right is the bread-and-butter of Airbyte.  Success looks like an ever-growing library where everyone on the planet can find a ready-to-use connector to move their data.

While we give little importance to job titles, we believe every Airbyter should know their internal level and understand what’s expected of them in their role, at their level. This opportunity is for an L5+ Engineer. L5s contribute their deep expertise and experience to large-scale and complex problems. They drive impact by providing thought leadership and context to the organization, driving alignment across teams to achieve success with company objectives. L5s are often the senior-most member of their team and set a high bar for others to strive towards.

What You'll Do:

  • Drive projects that enable Airbyte and our community to produce and maintain world-class connectors at a rapid pace.  This includes developing the ideal DX for connector developers which includes build tools, CI pipelines, and publishing workflows.
  • Develop changes to our core product(s) that make the experience of finding, upgrading, and configuring connectors as easy as possible.
  • Research and produce metrics that monitor the overall health of the Airbyte connectors ecosystem.

  • Guide product decisions and the team roadmap with an engineering perspective.
  • Engage with the open-source community via Github, Slack, or community events.
  • Grow your teammates through mentorship

What You'll Need:

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience
  • Experience working as a Staff, Senior Staff, or Principal level engineer
  • Proficiency in Java & Python - Our platform is written in Java/Kotlin and runs connectors in Java & Python; we use Python for connector tooling
  • Familiarity with tools like Github Actions, Docker, and Kubernetes and interest in building world-class developer experiences.

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

An "active duty wartime or campaign badge veteran" means a veteran who served on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service during a war, or in a campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge has been authorized under the laws administered by the Department of Defense.

Form CC-305

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
