This role will be based in our Bangkok office and relocation will be provided.

 

Responsibilities:

General: Reporting to the VP based in New York, this is a high-profile role leading a senior team accountable for the performance of the world’s largest and most iconic hotel chains. As a 2IC to the VP, you will represent the team culture, priorities and performance in executive level meetings, commercial, product, finance, strategic and operational conversations.

Business Development: Explore commercial and technological partnerships with chains based across Asia and support the exploration of similar partnerships with other regional and global chains.

Experimentation: Ingrain an experimental mindset within the team and continually run inter- and intra-departmental experiments across all business verticals.

Account Management: Foster mutually beneficial relationships within the hotel chains at multiple levels within the region; in addition, represent Agoda within hotel associations, events and conferences.

Process Improvement: Work with all teams to drive inter- and intra- departmental efficiencies, optimize operational processes and prioritize system enhancements.

Commercial Partnerships: Negotiate favorable terms to optimize company financials, security, market position, customer experience, technology and product development.

Leadership: Lead a small team of experts to deliver the above functions at scale, be excited by the challenge of mentoring team members and echoing the team culture around the world.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce or law
  • 12+ years’ experience in a business development, sales or account management role
  • 10+ years’ experience within a multi-national travel or e-commerce company
  • 7+ years’ experience leading business development, sales or account management teams
  • Proven expertise using data to solve complex problems & succinctly present solutions
  • High Emotional Quotient, evidence of a service leadership philosophy and team-first ethos
  • Gravitas and confidence presenting to c-level executives, senior technical & business leaders
  • Comfort work under pressure, with agile methodology in a rapidly changing environment
  • Flexibility to frequently travel within Asia
