Description of the Position

The Additive Manufacturing (AM) Technician will be located in the Additive Manufacturing Center (Mount Pleasant, PA).  The responsibilities of the AM Technician include assisting in every facet of the 3D printing/ additive manufacturing process, including programming/data preparation, 3D printer operation, 3D printer maintenance, material handling, and associated post processing steps such as part machining & wire EDM. Attention to detail is a key attribute to success in this role. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic individual capable of learning new technologies and processes as well as driven to teach themselves or make suggestions for improvement when applicable. The AM Technician reports directly to the Director of Additive Manufacturing, physically located at the Mount Pleasant, PA location. 

Job Details:

  • Program part placement and orientation.
  • Operate & maintain 3D printing/ additive manufacturing equipment following a standardized workflow that maximizes part quality, machine up-time, and production throughput.
  • Load and unload raw materials and other equipment consumables.
  • Perform secondary operations on printed parts including basic machining (CNC & Manual Mill, CNC & Manual Lathe), drilling, tapping, Wire EDM, and media blasting.
  • Perform regular equipment cleaning and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Responsible for compliance to all Quality Management Systems.
  • Ensure the quality of product prior to shipment.

Qualifications:

  • An attitude of world-class quality, attention-to-detail, and a dedicated team player.
  • Demonstrated track record of resourcefulness, attention-to-detail, and process ownership.
  • Basic CAD skills (Solidworks preferred)
  • Associates degree from vocational, college, technical institution/technical military training OR on-the-job experience.  (Associates degree preferred but not required)
  •  2+ years of experience in manufacturing environment, operating and working with high-tech production machinery, i.e. CNC machines, additive manufacturing, robotic welding, CMM or similar
  • Hands on experience with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gages, precision scales, etc.)
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to qualify for a security clearance
  • Location: Additive Manufacturing Center (Mount Pleasant, PA)

Employment Type: Full-Time or Part Time

Salary: $ 40,000 – $60,000

Work Schedule: 5 day/45 hr work week, and weekends as needed.
