Role:

AgentSync’s products are built on Salesforce and AWS, effectively leveraging every aspect of those platforms and pushing the edges of what is possible within their ecosystems. We treasure stability, scalability, and customer experience as first-order principles, striving to create thoughtful, delightful user interfaces and seamless workflows. Behind the scenes, we build secure, scaled integrations into licensing database sources of truth (e.g. NIPR, FINRA), obscuring the complexity of licensing data through translation into an understandable, reportable data model.

Our Contracting product is a simplified way to manage the process of onboarding producers to agencies and carriers. For producers, it allows for an efficient way to onboard quickly for multiple carriers. For agencies, it allows for better and centralized management of their producers and their contracts with carriers. And for both producers and agencies, it allows for a centralized place to track their statuses and workflow.

As an engineer on the Contracting team, you will bring your expertise to work with product, operations, and our other engineers to build and design new features and maintain the current product. You will be very hands on with not only building but designing and having a “product engineer” mindset. You will also be a thought partner and innovation driver, participating in the overall design of new services that tie together AgentSync’s products and systems.

Further, in the senior engineer role you will mentor other engineers on the team and at a cross-team level. You will also be heavily involved in tech leading efforts, coordinating with our product team to determine trade-offs between new features, customer needs, and technical needs. This is a hands-on role that lets you not only flex your coding muscles as a senior engineer but enhance your soft-skills.

What you’ll do:

  • Build and maintain our Contracting front-end application and services, which is used by both internal customers (operations) and external customers
  • Consistently write clean code that is easily testable and understood by other developers, keeping in mind security, performance, scale, and technical debt, leading those efforts as necessary
  • Conduct code and design reviews and incorporate feedback
  • Refine and cost work for yourself and the team to be able to consistently deliver on commitments
  • Be able to handle both front-end and back-end development, even if your experience leans toward one of those directions
  • Be very product focused in your mindset, always thinking about ways to improve the product both technically and functionally
  • Work closely with product managers to see our vision come to life, being active throughout the entire development lifecycle for all product features
  • Work to become an expert in our product domain
  • Provide on-call support for our product
  • Be proficient at systematically debugging to diagnose issues within the product domain
  • Perform all engineering tasks at a proficient rate with a high degree of autonomy
  • Design scalable, reliable portions of our architecture with some guidance, along with any proof-of-concepts
  • Be a source of expertise for the team and and more junior engineers
  • Break down projects into well-defined pieces that deliver iterative value to customers
  • Understand any trade-offs for decisions made in the product for customers and technical debt
  • Collaborate effectively cross-team on medium-to-large complexity topics within AgentSync
  • Provide technical advice and weigh in on technical decisions that impact other teams or the company at large

Your experience:

  • 5+ years’ software engineering experience
  • Expert-level experience with React and Typescript for our front-end
  • Expert-level experience with Java and Spring Boot for our back-end services
  • Experience leading code reviews and implementing engineering best practices to build scalable, performant and secure systems
  • Experience with eventing infrastructure (we use Kafka)
  • Experience integrating with third-party tools
  • Experience building and maintaining secure services utilizing public cloud technologies (we use AWS)
  • Familiarity with containerization (we use Docker and ECS)
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (we use Terraform)
  • The ability to communicate core concepts to non-technical audiences (through both verbal and written communication)
  • The desire to work on a collaborative, learning oriented team
  • A strong track record of problem solving and a “roll up your sleeves” mentality
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate core concepts to non-technical audiences

We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every requirement listed here. We know that every person has unique strengths, and we focus on hiring for those strengths, rather than looking for someone who meets every bullet point listed.

As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
