The Financial Controller will provide technical accounting expertise, improvements to financial processes, and development of our accounting team. We are looking for a hands-on manager who thrives in a fast-paced, start-up environment. Responsibilities include transitioning from an early-stage company accounting principles to researching, documenting, and achieving GAAP compliance, including the implementation of ASC 606 for a SaaS business. This role will manage the entire financial statement close process as well as leading the accounting operations functions of customer invoicing and vendor management. This individual will have a focus on developing scalable processes by identifying and installing software tools, which includes the implementation of a billing engine and vendor management system. This role will be highly visible within the organization and will work alongside every department in the company. 

What you’ll do:

  • Own the financial statement close and preparation process, developing best in class operations to support future audit requirements. 
  • Research, document, and implement accounting policies in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Policies (“GAAP”). 
  • Act as a strategic partner across the organization, delivering meaningful insight and financial decision support.
  • Support Legal and Finance in tracking customer contract details and calculating annual recurring revenue (“ARR”) as well as other key performance indicators. 
  • Own all aspects of the accounting operation functions relating to customer invoicing and vendor management.
  • Oversee all tax compliance and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Take responsibility for overall company cash management by ensuring expenses conform to established policy and customer amounts are received per contract terms.  
  • Develop accounting processes to ensure scalability with business growth. Manage the implementation of critical infrastructure tools, such as a billing engine and vendor management system. 
  • Drive internal controls, efficiency, and accuracy of all financial reporting processes.
  • Train, mentor, challenge, and develop the accounting team; build-out the team as the company grows.

Your experience:

  • 13+ years of experience in accounting, ideally with a mix of public and corporate accounting with experience in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) subscription environment..
  • Bachelor’s Degree or MBA in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including evaluation and adoption of ASC 606.  
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel / Google Sheets, Quickbooks Online, and Stripe; tech savvy.
  • Experience in implementing an ERP system is preferred. 
  • Strong track record of successfully motivating and developing team members.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, effective in communicating key data, including presentations to senior management or other outside partners.

Salary:

In accordance with Colorado law, the following represents AgentSync’s reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role, if hired in Colorado.

$160,00 - $190,000 + Annual Bonus 

Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in AgentSync’s equity programs.
