About the Role
The Senior Manager (PMO) is responsible for leading a team of Project Managers (5-9 direct references) and their associated Contract Development and/or Manufacturing projects at AGC Biologics, Copenhagen. The role provides direction for the program and portfolio, supporting project controls and timeline management across internal functional and organizational lines as well as with our clients.
 
About the Department
We are 18 Project Managers, spanning experience from associate to senior level. The Project Managers are working on one and up to three projects each, depending on the PM’s seniority and the project complexity. The Project Manager is the liaison with our customer and responsible for coordinating all the internal processes, across departments (Development, Quality and Manufacturing). Technical knowledge and understanding of biotechnological processes, it thus necessary for the role.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Provide the Project Managers with the necessary program direction for planning, organizing, developing and integrating projects across multiple functional areas.
  • As a people leader, effectively utilize influence and leadership principles to guide and motivate the PM team.
  • Support the Project Managers in aligning expectations and obtain support from the internal functional areas to support the projects, with focus on
    • Project and portfolio plans to ensure clarity and attainment of milestones and timelines; including development and implementation of mitigation plans as needed to achieve project deliverables.
    • Developing and tracking of project performance metrics and achievement.
  • Provide feedback to management of project and portfolio progress, scope changes and new business opportunities.
  • Cultivate effective communication, cooperation and trust with client.
Experience and Education
  • MSc in a scientific discipline with 10 or more years of relevant work experience – in development and/or manufacturing in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry including demonstrated working knowledge of cGMP and Project Management
  • Minimum 5y of relevant leadership experience
  • Minimum 3y of Project Management experience
  • Advanced software skills, particularly with Microsoft Project and the Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to understand and administer client contracts and agreements, develop statements of work and write amendments
Personal competencies:
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to lead, direct, and motivate the Project Managers in their leadership of the cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational skills and financial discipline; ability to prioritize work and drive team accomplishment
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
