The Accounting Specialist III (Accounts Payable) plays an integral role within the finance team. This position is responsible for all aspects of the accounts payable and expense reimbursement functions.
Ensure vendor payments and expense reimbursements are accurate, made in a timely manner and approved by the appropriate members of the organization.
Perform monthly closing responsibilities in a timely manner including: recording all manual payments; reconciling all disbursement and invoicing activity, posting A/P transactions to the general ledger, and period-end accruals.
Assist in the preparation of check runs and wire/ACH payments
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and tax requirements; maintain appropriate records to support Form 1099 filings with the IRS.
Oversee the maintenance of our expense reporting tool (Acubiz) including user maintenance, recording expenses in the GL, and expense report approvals
Perform timely follow up on outstanding issues, requests for information, and other research between departments and external parties.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Must be a highly motivated, creative problem solver, with the proven ability to use independent judgment and initiative to identify problems and recommend solutions.
Must be customer service oriented, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be detailed and organized with the ability to consistently meet deadlines and show flexibility with changing priorities
Demonstrated ability to work well with vendors and other departments within the organization
Intermediate proficiency with MS Excel, Access, Word, Outlook
HS diploma plus 5+ years’ related General Ledger and A/P experience required; Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
Strong computer and financial system/ERP experience required; experience with MS Dynamics AX highly preferred
Equivalent education and experience may substitute for stated requirements
