This is a Development Associate position in the Upstream Process Development group. Primary responsibilities include developing and optimizing mammalian bioreactor processes for GMP manufacturing. This roll will also include technology development and client management.
Execute bench scale bioreactor and shake flask experiments.
Analyzes and interprets many routine experimental results independently.
Contributes to design of experiments (DoE) and statistical analysis in consultation with supervisor as needed.
Proficiency in mammalian cell culture and relevant lab methodologies. Trains other group members as needed.
Identify basic technical problems and solves these consulting with supervisor/leads
Independently or with with some supervision, presents data and proposes next steps at client meetings.
Presents data at internal meetings .
Write protocols, client reports, and templates with limited supervision.
Enables upstream process transfer from Process Development labs to Manufacturing.
Contribute to continuous lab improvement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Demonstrated experience in a mammalian cell culture and bioreactor lab environment.
Excellent technical writing and presentation skills.
Proven technical ability to successfully problem solve and troubleshoot.
The ability to work independently and in a team setting.
Good interpersonal relationship skills required for working with clients.
Previous experience with bioreactors and knowledge of large scale manufacturing activities in a GMP environment preferred.
Experience with JMP or other statistical analysis tools would be beneficial.
B.S., or M.S. in life science 5-10 years relevant experience.
