Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.

At Affirm, we're reinventing credit to make it more transparent, consumer-friendly, and straightforward. We empower consumers with the ability to buy now and pay later, without any hidden fees or compounding interest. Our mission is to deliver honest financial products that improve lives.

Our merchant partners rely on Affirm to achieve their Growth objectives: to convert sales, to re-engage their existing customers, and to help them reach net-new customers. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to craft the strategy and roadmap to help our merchants be successful over the entirety of their lifecycle by using Affirm’s ever-expanding product suite.

As the Merchant Success PM, you will drive forward key parts of the post-onboarding merchant engagement experience such as: i) early lifecycle retention by defining a guided path to realizing value early, ii) opportunities to optimize the financing packages offered to merchants via recommendations and iii) self-service tools that help merchants understand and optimize their Affirm performance.

What you'll do:

  • Understand Affirm merchants, their business objectives, and how they turn to Affirm to help achieve those objectives

  • Craft experiences that ensure merchants feel set up for success early in their partnership with Affirm. Help them understand how Affirm creates impact for their business, demonstrate that value in key business metrics, and show them how to improve that value over time

  • Make it easier for merchants to offer the most effective financing products for their customer needs, using Affirm as both a sales conversion tool as well as a marketing accelerator

  • Shape a growth strategy and roadmap by combining data insights, user research, commercial and risk needs with strong product sense

  • Develop success metrics/OKRs to measure the effectiveness of merchant engagement initiatives.

  • Work with design and engineering teams to develop and launch new products and features.

  • Partner with commercial and product marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies for new products and features.

  • Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for innovation and growth.

What we look for:

  • You have a proven track record managing multiple technical software products from kick-off to post-launch, with tangible business impact.

  • You’re equally comfortable diving into technical details with an engineer, iterating on a Figma with a designer, or breaking down a funnel with a data analyst.

  • You have the discipline, organizational skills, and interpersonal communication skills necessary to navigate complex organizational dynamics – you have specific examples of times when you’ve secured a decision from a broad group of senior stakeholders.

  • You’re the kind of person who cares about getting things done. You have a bias towards action and can effectively navigate obstacles and blockers.

  • You can turn incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous inputs into a solid action plan.

  • Familiarity with Excel for product analysis

  • Passion and drive to change consumer finance for the better

  • Bonus points: experience in Fintech, Lending, eCommerce, or BNPL
