About the role:
We're seeking a Staff Platform Engineer (m/f/d) whose primary responsibility is to ensure the flawless development of a robust and scalable integrated identity system. As part of this role, you will tackle performance bottlenecks, scalability issues, and potential points of failure. Your key objectives will include optimizing both software and systems, all the while offering guidance and mentorship to our engineering team. A significant aspect of your role will revolve around enhancing the operational efficiency of the Platform team to achieve superior performance. Furthermore, your extensive expertise in Platforms and Cloud technologies will play a pivotal role in guiding multiple teams. You will also play a crucial role in supervising the creation and enhancement of tools for monitoring system health, security, efficiency, and scalability. This position is in Berlin and will report to the Engineering Manager.

- Identifying and mitigating performance bottlenecks, scaling limitations, and potential single points of failure to optimize both software and infrastructure.

- Managing our AWS infrastructure, organized in a multi-account configuration.
- Conceiving, constructing, and sustaining tools that automate operational procedures pertaining to infrastructure.
- Contributing insights during the preliminary phases of application design as a Cloud Expert.
- Ensuring the sustainable expansion of systems through mechanisms such as automation.
- Providing leadership and mentorship to engineers to ensure the successful delivery of a scalable and resilient holistic identity system.

You will be a great match if you bring:
- 10+ years of relevant experience for the role
- Proficient in implementing infrastructure as code solutions for efficient cloud resource management
- Skilled in programming with Typescript
- Experience with AWS CDK for cloud infrastructure modeling
- Strong background in serverless computing platforms and architectures
- Deep understanding of technical architecture principles
- Extensive proficiency with AWS; familiarity with other cloud providers is a plus
- Demonstrated expertise in incident management, handling critical incidents promptly and effectively
- Confident in release engineering and/or configuration management
- Proven track record in architecting and deploying high-load Distributed Systems and Microservices
- Experience developing DevOps pipelines using GitLab CI
- Proactive, hands-on approach to tackling technical challenges with a high level of expertise

- Have experience in working with Go, Rust, C#.
