Description
The Strategic Pricing Director will manage pricing strategy, development & operations to drive transformational deals, improve the pricing process, and determine deal profitability/risk for internal decision makers. This role is also responsible for the support and maintenance of ongoing customer pricing models and rate cards.
Responsibilities
The following duties include, but are not limited to...
- Facilitate development, approval, implementation, and upkeep of pricing across all solutions
- Involve growth, science, delivery, product, marketing, finance, and other key subject matter experts to align on pricing strategy
- Ensure roles and rates by solution are clear and are accurately represented in the Pricing Tools.
- Pricing Control & Oversight for Growth
- Lead updating Annual List/Cost rate process
- Enforce discounting and pricing approval process
- Align with Finance on developing process for estimating margins and establishing a margin review process
- Support Growth Team in standard pricing process
- Provide pricing for various solutions using agreed upon calculators and pricing schematics.
- Escalate non-standard pricing proposals as necessary
- Pricing tool subject matter expert
- Assist Growth team in completion of Pricing tool where necessary.
- Various ad-hoc projects and requests
Qualifications
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in Business Management, Contracts Management, Consulting, Finance and/or CRO industry.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or other directly related area
- Knowledge of life sciences industry.
- Advanced level of Excel, Ability to program and QC complex Excel solutions and design and implement large structural changes in Excel based systems.
- Knowledge of costing models and ability to analyze simple resourcing algorithms.
- Knowledge of how pricing systems integrate with other systems.
- Excellent budgeting, forecasting and analytical skills.
- Possess strong analytical skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and customers.
- Familiarity with Salesforce and its pricing capabilities
