About AE Studio

AE Studio is a mid-sized startup from California. We have a team of highly skilled developers, designers, and data scientists building products that increase human agency. We use the most recent technologies to develop solutions for startups as well as large companies like Samsung and Berkshire Hathaway. At AE Studio, our central goal is to improve human agency through neurotechnology. We achieve this through in-house development, open-source projects, academic partnerships, and by supporting clients ranging from startups to established enterprises. We are looking for someone with experience in neurotechnology, machine learning, artificial intelligence, data engineering, strong problem-solving skills, self-management skills, and enthusiasm to learn more about the intersection of data science and neuroscience.

About the Role

You'll be part of a team working to create cutting-edge neurotechnology to improve human agency. We utilize an array of cutting-edge technologies, including EEG, Utah arrays, ultrasound, fNIRS, and beyond. We work on every aspect of development from ideation, experimentation, software and machine learning development, and deployment. We collaborate on in-house non-profit projects and partner with clients to bring their visions to life. You will collaborate with our international BCI team, in addition to outside academic and industry organizations, in a semi-autonomous research and development role as we work together to accelerate the development of neurotechnology.

You:

  • Have a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g. neuroscience, electrical engineering, physics, or mathematics)

  • Are fluent with Python, git, and software development best practices

  • Have experience in at least one of the following: neuroscience, biosignals, BCI experimentation and neural signal processing

  • Possess experience in transforming research findings into practical product applications

  • Have experience with working with deep learning libraries such as tensorflow or pytorch

Bonus Points For:

  • A PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g. neuroscience, electrical engineering, physics, or mathematics)

  • Experience using AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, databases, IAM, etc)

  • Proven expertise in leading teams to deliver top-notch code and exceptional products

  • Proficient in working with real-time systems
