About the Role:

We are looking for someone who will be the first member of the Finance team, reporting to the COO, and working across corporate and strategic finance to help lead Ascertain’s next phase of growth. In this position, you will play an integral role in ensuring Ascertain makes sound business decisions by driving analyses of results, financial forecasts, and scenario modeling. Collaborating closely with leaders across the organization, you will serve as a trusted finance partner, leveraging your insights to drive strategic planning, operational efficiency, and actionable outcomes. Additionally, you will play a key role in scaling Ascertain's operations, including refining processes, implementing operational controls and maintaining responsibility for the Company’s essential systems (i.e., Financial, Human Resources, Compliance).

What You'll Do:

Corporate Finance:

  • Own financial planning and budgeting processes, translating strategic objectives into actionable financial targets and plans.
  • Collaborate with departmental leaders to assess resource requirements, manage budgets, and optimize spending to support key initiatives.
  • Conduct ROI analyses and optimize resource allocation to drive efficiency.
  • Support month-end close activities by conducting budget vs. actual analyses and contributing to internal and external reporting.
  • Enhance cash flow forecasting processes to improve liquidity management.

Strategic Finance:

  • Develop and maintain detailed financial and operational models.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver financial insights, enhance forecasting accuracy, and drive operational performance.
  • Provide financial analyses and metrics reports to inform decision-making at the executive level.
  • Monitor key performance metrics, identify business opportunities and risks, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Support capital raising efforts with investors.

Operations:

  • Implementing operational and financial controls to maintain consistency and quality across all operations.
  • Maintaining and optimizing essential systems, including financial, human resources, and compliance systems.
  • Analyzing processes to identify areas for improvement and developing strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Playing a pivotal role in driving the company's growth and success by scaling operations effectively.

What You'll Have:

  • 8+ years of experience in strategic finance, corporate finance, FP&A, private equity, venture capital, investment banking, or management consulting.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, quantitative analysis, and data interpretation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to precision.
  • Experience directly managing an organizations payroll, benefits, and equity technology systems (i.e., JustWorks, Netsuite, Carta)
  • Understanding of GAAP and key accounting principles applicable to SaaS businesses.

Additional Details

The base salary range is $175,000 to $225,000 with an eligible cash bonus and early stage Company equity. A salary will be determined by experience, skill level, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.

Total compensation also includes a stock option grant and a competitive benefits package.Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
