Financial Controller

Adyen is looking for a Financial Controller to grow the Group Finance team in Amsterdam, focused primarily on owning the trial balance(s) for the LATAM region and supporting regulatory compliance with the recent payment licenses. You will interact and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in order to support our continued business growth in a scalable, controlled and compliant way. The ideal candidate takes ownership of our local financials for two LATAM entities (Brazil and Mexico), and has a drive to understand these and is able to tie this back to where we’re heading as a Group globally. 

Being part of the centralized Financial Controlling team in Amsterdam means you’ll be working in the (financial) engine room of a registered and listed financial institution; being part of a relatively small team means you’ll be (in)directly involved in a lot of very interesting topics that reach beyond the LATAM borders.

What you’ll do

  • Your core focus will be on Latin America entities, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements;
  • Collaborating within Group Finance (Accounts Payable, Payroll and Tax teams) as well as with stakeholders outside of Finance, managing the general ledger, including working with Accounts Payable Accountant and Tax Accountant ensuring completion of the monthly accruals, journals, fixed assets and depreciation schedules;
  • Review of OPEX variance analysis during month-end close process;
  • Preparation of Regulatory Reports to the Central Bank;
  • Providing support during internal and external audits;
  • Assisting in process improvement and systems enhancement to drive initiatives that help scale the organization.

Who you are

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial control/accounting; experience with regulatory reporting is preferred;
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese is mandatory;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or Taxation (Commerce)
