Indirect Tax Manager

As an Indirect Tax Manager at Adyen, you deal with all indirect tax matters that pop-up in any of the countries you manage. This could be the opening of a new office, implementing new legislation, solving issues in the compliance cycle or managing tax audits. In this hands-on role, you will manage global relationships all across Adyen but also with tax authorities and other external parties. In addition, you will become the subject matter expert on any of our Products and Business Models.


What you’ll do

  • Identify, analyze and implement new tax requirements triggered by any business or legislative development in the end-to-end tax compliance process (this includes tax data landscape, systems and processes)
  • Identify and implement improvements in the end-to-end tax compliance process, where possible by making use of tax technology 
  • Work closely together with many people at Adyen, e.g. within the tax team but you will also be in day-to-day contact with our AP, AR, Business Controlling team, Legal, Treasury, Underwriting, Risk and the various commercial team
  • Support the business by being our global subject matter expert on an Adyen Product, such as marketplaces, FX or terminals. 


Who you are

  • You have 4-6 years of relevant (services, goods, customs) indirect tax experience, ideally including in-house
  • You have indirect tax compliance experience (manage, review, improve processes)
  • You have either experience with tax technology (e.g. tax engine, e-invoicing) or a desire to learn
  • You are keen to learn and not afraid to make mistakes
  • You like to make things happen and to take ownership
  • You like intellectual tax challenges as well as operational work
  • You are good at making connections and able to engage people in tax matters.

Please, note that this role is a full-time position in Amsterdam. It will require a relocation in case you live outside of the Netherlands.
