Position Summary:
Trames Bio is currently seeking a gene therapy scientist to lead our research and early drug design efforts to create novel medicines, with the goal of transforming the way chronic pain disorders are treated. As an early member of the Trames Bio team, the scientist will play a key role in advancing the company’s science and programs. Responsibilities include:
- Provide technical input and scientific leadership regarding all aspects of AAV gene biology and vector design
- Interface effectively with internal team as well external vendors, Contract Research Organizations (CROs) and academic/industry collaborators
- Manage gene therapy biology and design projects through external vendors/resources as required
- Present findings with clarity, precision and timeliness to key stakeholders and leadership
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D, with specialization in neuroscience, molecular biology or related fields
- AAV biology background including proficiency in designing AAVs
- Demonstrated expertise in molecular biology
- Neurobiology training preferred
- 3-5 years research experience as a postdoc
- At least 1 year industry experience preferred but not required
- Experience collaborating with Contract Research Organizations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong skills in identifying and resolving critical issues
The range for this full-time position is $135,000 - 150,000, plus a target bonus, equity compensation and benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life and 401k plan with match.
Our time off benefits include flexible/non-accrued PTO plus 12 paid holidays. Sick leave will also be accrued at the rate of one hour for every thirty hours worked. For employees eligible to take parental leave, we may provide up to 8 weeks of paid additional leave. Additional leave time may be available and may be paid from other sources.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. The range displayed on our postings reflects the minimum and maximum for new hire salaries. Within the range, individual pay is determined by interview performance, job-related skills, experience, relevant education and training, and other relevant factors. Please note the range reflects base salary and does not include target bonus, equity or benefits.
