Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Accounting Manager to join our Team. The Accounting Manager will be a key collaborator in the growth expansion of our pre-IPO business. We are seeking a strong, self-starting, organized, and energetic individual with a high level of integrity. The company is looking for that ‘go-to’ person who enjoys learning and accomplishing tasks in a fast-paced, team environment. Strong work ethic, solid communication skills, and attention to detail are a must.
Key responsibilities include preparing accurate and timely financial reports. This role will help in IPO readiness, ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures are in place. The successful candidate will take a lead role in third party audits and implementation of new system solutions. This position reports to the Controller.
Primary responsibilities:
- Perform monthly and quarterly closes in compliance with US GAAP – including journal entries, account reconciliations and analytical reviews of the balance sheet and income statement. Areas will include cash, accruals, prepaids, leases, etc.
- Prepare accrual schedules and confirm percent complete for Clinical, CMC and R&D agreements
- Proactively identify and problem-solve accounting issues. Make recommendations for resolution
- Prepare GAAP and non-GAAP financial statements for investor reporting
- Review account and department coding to confirm alignment with the budget
- Process and review accounts payable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice entry
- Review open purchase orders to confirm timely receipt and additional follow up as needed
- Work cross-functionally and establish business partnerships with various departments

- Coordinate with external auditors regarding audit and tax requests
- Contribute to initiatives to identify and implement best practices and continuous improvement plans in the organization’s accounting operation
- Assist with drafting policies and procedure guides to standardize accounting processes and enhance internal controls
- Assist with other ad hoc requests including system enhancements as needed

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with 4+ years experience (biotechnology/life sciences industry preferred)
- Computer Skills: Quickbooks and Excel a must, demonstrated proficiency with accounting systems, experience with Prendio and NetSuite a bonus
- Strong technical expertise in US GAAP and financial reporting, month-end close process
- Strong understanding of SOX compliance
- Public accounting experience preferred, but not required
The range for this full-time position is $135,000 - 155,000, plus a target bonus, equity compensation and benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life and 401k plan with match.
Our time off benefits include flexible/non-accrued PTO plus 12 paid holidays. Sick leave will also be accrued at the rate of one hour for every thirty hours worked. For employees eligible to take parental leave, we may provide up to 8 weeks of paid additional leave. Additional leave time may be available and may be paid from other sources.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. The range displayed on our postings reflects the minimum and maximum for new hire salaries. Within the range, individual pay is determined by interview performance, job-related skills, experience, relevant education and training, and other relevant factors. Please note the range reflects base salary and does not include target bonus, equity or benefits.
