Job Description

Adept Games is seeking an accomplished and creative Senior Animator to work on our upcoming video game titles. As a collaborative member of our development team, you’ll work closely with designers, engineers and other disciplines of the art department to solve visual challenges pertaining to character animation. The ideal candidate will drive for results with their discipline team, ask and solve hard questions, is proactive about their own career growth as well as the growth of their team, and provides visually elegant deliverables to all aspects of character animation.

Location Note: During the current Covid-19 health situation all of our work is being conducted remotely. In the future, we do hope to have our team working together again in-person in the Greater Seattle area but it is unknown when this will happen. For now, a candidate would need to have a strong work ethic to meet deadlines while working remotely and have a consistent high-speed internet connection to work from their home location.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Art Director to keep quality and style of animation consistent across all characters
  • Provides direction to other animators for aesthetic and technical considerations
  • Works with Art Director and Outsourcing Manager to identify and schedule assets for external development
  • Maintains a clear and consistent schedule in conjunction with the Project Manager
  • Works closely with the character creation team to ensure technical viability
  • Works closely with the Tool and Engine team to develop new or improve upon old technologies to improve animation processes
  • Participates in the planning for all aspects of character animation development
  • Works with other departments to ensure that assets are delivered in a timely manner
  • Active member of a backlog triage team

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of 3D video game/entertainment production
  • Expert knowledge in Unity, Autodesk Maya, Marvelous Designer (preferred)
  • Previous experiences on game projects (at least 2 or 3 larger console titles)
  • Strong portfolio of successful visual challenges and 3D production work
  • Experience in a full digital animation content creation pipeline, both hand keyed and mocap
  • Excellent verbal skills as well as the ability to clearly document technical processes
  • Passion for videogames and extensive knowledge of different game genres across all platforms
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Positive attitude and a genuine team player
