Adept is building a machine learning model that can interact with everything on your computer. We are solving open problems in AI in order to train a neural network that knows how to use every piece of software we use in our lives – all in service of building our product, a natural language interface to your computer. The front-end engineer will lead and implement the UI/UX of Adept’s products and demos.
 
We are looking for a passionate and driven, zero to one, front-end engineer that can work with Product and Design to bring our collaborator interface to life. You will be a key participant in the user discovery process, developing and implementing prototypes for potential use cases. You’ll be responsible for building the front-end of our product that seamlessly works across different tools and interacts with users in natural language.

What You'll Achieve

      • Build a seamless, intuitive front-end for our product
      • Work closely with research and engineering to create a wonderful end-to-end user experience
      • Collaborate with Product and Design to build interface prototypes that can show the capabilities of our ML models across several tools
      • Design and build demos for our internal models to help us understand and explore the capabilities of our current models
      • Build an interface for human feedback collection to address key research questions
 

Skills You'll Need to Bring

    • Relevant startup experience or building products from the ground up
    • Able to handle ambiguous requirements and work with designers to synthesize user workflows into beautiful and useful interfaces
    • 4+ years experience with leading design and implementation for user facing products
    • High agency with UI design and implementation; you are an expert in JS frameworks and libraries like React, HTML, CSS, etc.
    • Can rapidly prototype and iterate quickly as required; able to collaborate with a designer, PM, and back-end engineer easily
    • Good to have: familiarity with technologies outside of the front-end domain such as backend technologies or ML
This role reports to Armand McQueen
 
 
The pay range for this position in California is $200,000- $225,000yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, candidate location, and experience. In addition to base salary, we also offer competitive equity and benefits packages.
