The Medical Director, Medical Affairs, will provide medical expertise to all Medical Affairs activities; including, but not limited to, scientific messaging, medical communication, medical information, real world evidence generation, external communications with key thought leaders and medical support of commercial activities. The incumbent will ideally have neurology practice experience with established networks within the academic community. This position is based in Emeryville, CA and reports to the Chief Medical Officer.
Functions as neurology educator both internally and externally; provides medical review of scientific communications related activities: scientific messaging platform, abstracts, posters, manuscripts, slide decks, and medical information response documents
Functions as key presenter at advisory boards, speaker training programs, specialty pharmacy meetings, and payer meetings;
Provides medical review of post-marketing safety reports;
Consults on the design of Adamas’ sponsored studies, and provides expert review of Investigator Sponsored Studies;
Provides expert guidance in the development of exploratory data analysis plans;
Provides medical expertise in key vendor selection activities;
Understands and willing to follow all applicable Adamas SOPs and policies and adhere to GxP as appropriate;
Ensures compliance with corporate policies and procedures, as well as, US healthcare laws and regulations.
M.D required, completion of neurology residency and fellowship program, preferred (e.g., movement disorder neurology or epilepsy);
Industry experience for at least 2 years, either in Medical Affairs or Clinical development
Clinical experience (academic and/or private practice) for at least 5 years
Experience as an investigator (PI or sub-PI) during clinical tenure preferred;
Respected member within the neurology community;
Adept clinical educator and presenter; enjoys teaching; capable of simplifying complex neurology and neuroscience concepts based on background of audience;
Ability to participate effectively in multi-disciplinary teams and engage all levels within the organization without regard to title or credentials;
Proven organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure;
Demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and impact on development of clinical trials;
Ability to travel (approximately 25% of domestic travel);
Successful experience in fast-paced entrepreneurial environment;
