Process Safety Managers – an opportunity to develop and lead hydrogen energy safety consulting teams with the backing of AcuTech’s leading market position, technology and strategic leadership

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage technical projects involving process safety management for hydrogen systems.
  • Develop and lead hydrogen energy safety consulting teams with the backing of AcuTech’s leading market position, technology, and strategic leadership.
  • Serve as subject matter expertise on hydrogen hazards and technologies, codes and standards, and industrial best practices.
  • Process Safety Management systems program development and enhancement.
  • Process Hazards Analysis (HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA, and/or QRA) studies.
  • Safety Instrument Systems specification and design.
  • Networking with the hydrogen manufacturing industry and user base to represent AcuTech

Position Requirements:

  • BS/MS in related engineering field (chemical, electrical, mechanical, safety) or associated science degree.
  • Senior Consultants/Managers will have 10-15+ years in process safety management , safety and environment (HSE), related experience in process or engineering design environment, manufacturing operations, and/or consulting environment.
  • Experience in Safety with hydrogen energy systems, electrolyzers, fuel cells, manufacturing, Transportation, mobility, or end-use renewable energy applications with hydrogen and other technologies in the renewable energy industry.
  • Knowledge of Hydrogen energy and fuel cells product development, safety leadership, management, and engineering.
  • Experience working with major fuel cells; hydrogen energy and fuel cells, i.e. proton exchange membrane, direct methanol, solid oxide and alkaline fuel cells.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, or managing PSM programs
  • Experience in developing, writing, and implementing PSM plans, procedures, design philosophies, design bases, engineering specifications, standard operating procedures
  • Experience developing and evaluating HSE management systems and advising management at all levels of the organization to effect positive change.
  • Experience in performing process hazard analyses (PHA), and risk assessments, or related studies, such as HAZID, What-If, HAZOP, FMEA, fault tree/event tree analysis, fire and explosion modeling, or level of protection analysis (LOPA).
  • Recognized knowledge of safety integrity level (SIL) assessment, IEC61511/61503 standards.
  • Ability to develop consulting business, including developing proposals and making presentations.
  • Self-motivated, independent, strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and client service.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation skills and a consultative approach in supporting customer projects.

Preferred:

  • Process Safety Management systems.
  • Process Hazards Analysis (HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA, and/or QRA).
  • Safety Instrument Systems.
  • Optional additional experience of interest:
    • Renewable energy engineer with background in solar, photo voltaic, biomass and wind energy systems batteries, supercapacitors.
    • Energy storage systems (power to gas, metal hydride systems, and electrochemical systems).
    • Thermal and fluid applications.
    • Automotive and powertrain systems.
