Reporting directly to the Chief Business Officer, the Senior Vice President of Business Development will be responsible for the global expansion of the AccuWeather’s brand, revenue and audience (most importantly traffic) through business development and partnerships. The role must manage existing partnerships and secure new large strategic relationships that expand the AccuWeather digital audience. This role must build & maintain key partnership relationships, and help generate revenue to achieve/exceed partnership sales goals.  AccuWeather is at a pivotal growth point and wants to continue its significant growth trajectory by innovating and growing into the global, multi-platform industry leader. Partnerships include relationships with technology companies, OEMs, media companies, auto, pharma, and other large platform brands both in the US and globally. 

This position will be located at AccuWeather’s NYC location. 



  • Through strategic partnerships grow AccuWeather’s digital audience in the U.S. and globally
  • In collaboration with the senior executives of the company, direct and create and implement all aspects of AccuWeather’s business development 
  • Lead the process for identifying, evaluating, executing, and managing all partnerships for the company across a variety of industries globally
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and C-Suite leaders (Sales, Product and Finance are priorities) to ensure continued innovation and a strong feedback loop across the organization 
  • Establish strong relationships within the industry externally to help implement a full range of business solutions which will be critical to their business success 
  • Work closely with product and content team and have oversight of content syndication deals and product licensing relationships
  • Lead, develop and maintain a strong high-performing team; evaluate existing team in place and create a progressive, forward-thinking team - provide a road map to greater efficiencies and more success
  • Leverage the company's data to develop and create partnership opportunities with an emphasis on the following industry verticals: OEM, automotive, media content
  • Drive a “lean startup” style environment of constant experimentation and innovation
  • Expand upon key relationships in place today (such as connected cars, autonomous vehicles, OEM partners, and with companies such as ESPN) and upsell them into new products and services all with a focus on growing digital audience
  • Oversight and leadership for team overseeing partnerships including OEM, Smart Devices, Connected Car, Data Partnerships); find innovative go-forward strategies within these existing verticals 


The successful candidate will be an accomplished innovative executive who has structured and managed large digital or brand or commercial partnerships. Must have an outstanding record of accomplishment leading commercial organizations globally, preferably with a digital growth focus. The SVP BD will bring expertise from across a variety of industries, likely including but not limited to content, technology, media, and/or broader data company experience. 

  • Demonstrable track record of developing and closing strategic deals that have made major impacts that drive audience and have significant revenue contribution
  • Proven track record of closing deals
  • Global expertise with experience forming international deals, partnering with International Managing Partners/VPs.
  • Communicates and collaborates effectively; can work well with cross-functional stakeholder groups
  • Experience building relationships across areas such as media, technology, and data products; can access key players and brings a strong evangelist mentality to driving new innovation 
  • Proven forward-thinking leader; ability to identify progressive and innovative business trends and execute them successfully within an existing organization
  • Experience managing an existing Business Development function and team to the next level
  • Proven experience in a data driven, highly analytic environment; understands the complexities of first party data and how to leverage it successfully 
  • Understands and track record of operationalize a growth strategy 
  • Deep understanding of data and how to grow the value across various industry verticals 
  • Ability to make fast and clear decisions - can make immediate impact through decisive leadership, confidence and experience.

Pay Transparency: $250,000 base + $50,000 variable opportunity.
